Henrik Lundqvist will be out for at least a month due to the neck injury he suffered last Saturday. (NY Post)
The Rangers would neither confirm nor deny the injury or the timeline for Lundqvist.
    • For a timeline of Lundqvist’s status since he took a puck to the throat last Saturday, click HERE.
The exact nature of the injury is not yet known but it was reported this week that he had suffered bruises on his neck. He is not suffering from any nerve damage or post concussion syndrome. (NY Post)

The Rangers currently have a 99.7% chance of making the playoffs. (Sports Club Stats)

The good news is that it's not a knee or hip…just a freak injury. Now, let's hope Talbot can hold it down and keep us in there. Hold on for a bumpy ride!

That stinks but hopefully Talbot can do a good job holding the fort. Maybe they grab a fa vet as a supplement, as Skapski certainly can't yet.

Wow, just saw that... Knowing him he'll probably come back sooner.

Well Talbot has to step up, he wants to be a starter after next season and I'm sure the Rangers will allow him to walk to do that or trade him..

Nothing different, when a guy goes down it is another opportunity for a player to step up. I have confidence in Talbs and I'm sure the team does too

This is not good. They say a month, but who knows what the injury is. A month could be 2 months. Could be the season. Who knows.

If it was a month and he was back early March, we'll still be a playoff team, although maybe a WC not top 3 Met...which hurts a lot.

But if he is out longer that is bad. Needs time to get ready for playoffs. And maybe he is done for the season. There goes any SC dreams.

Says AT LEAST a month. This is bad. Season could be going up in smoke.

You don't mess around with the neck. This was my concern. You know it had to be something bad when he played against Florida and then was scratched against Boston...never a good sign.

    I am very concerned.

You'd think if it was just bruising that might heal in a few weeks but perhaps internally there might be an issue. Even with that i could see him back in 4-5 weeks with healing and medical supervision.

You tell me right now he is back by March 11th (season ends April 11th) I am fine. I think we'd still fine top 3 in the Met as well. BUT I get concerned that he is out longer...then we are done.

I bet there's some swelling and perhaps nerve bruising so they definately want to play it safe, but i wouldn't think it's anything longer term or ultra-serious.

I cant see how he is possibly out for this long with any kind of neck injury, this really sounds like a concussion to me, or some blood clot issue or something, I really hope I am wrong.

Anyone else think of any kind of neck injury that takes a month to heal?

"downgraded" to three weeks and called a vascular injury. Not sure that make me feel any better though....(as per Andrew Gross/Pat Leonard)

They need to bring in a veteran to backup Talbot.

agree on the vet backup for Talbot and all i care for is Henrik to be ready to go for the playoffs. We'll manage with Talbot in the meantime.

They're not the only team to go through this. Talbot can hold down the fort for a few weeks. The team will know they need to be stronger in front of him. Perhaps McDonaugh who caused this gets his head out of his ass now.

I don't see how it could be a concussion. It's a neck injury he's lucky it wasnt harder and did more damage.

Certainly really bad news but if its only 3 weeks he misses about 12 games. 7 on the road, 5 at home.....Some tough teams in there like Nashville this weekend but also some cellar dwellers. Chuck is right it could be horrific if longer but I am not panicking yet

Talbot will need help over a month's time. Unf'knbelievable......the way
this organization is cursed during any hockey season.

DEPTH just does not exist with the Ranger organization.

If this team goes on an extended losing streak.........................like I said,
    #$#%$^%^&*&)(*$()@!!!!!!!!!
