I'v been hoping all year that Neil was holding out dealing for the first until denver put Affalo on the market for cheap. I think he would fit better then Chandler here and is exactly what we need.

I just have this gut feeling Affalo is going to be a trailblazer in a couple weeks.

Would love that. Good defender, good ball handler, good shooter, everything we need in a backup 2-3.

I hope Neil pulls a move out of freaking left field.

Chandler's advanced numbers are so mediocre.

Afflalo seems like a really cool guy. In this Day in the Life video he talks a little bit about being traded to Orlando:

Afflalo would be a great addition. He seems pretty low maintenance personality wise and can play on both ends of the court. Seems like a fit to me. The thing I like about Wilson Chandler is that he can defend three positions, which would give Stotts more options than with Afflalo. I do prefer Afflalo though.

I wish Barton and TRob (and even the 1st rd pick) were enough to entice Denver but I know they are not. Those two swapped out for Afflalo and I would be extremely happy with our bench. I still have hope our bench can get it done as is but then is not a reason to not do a deal if this price is right for Afflalo. I used to be a big fan of chemistry but I dont think those 2 would impact the team much off the court and on the court simply losing some of TRob and Bartons bonehead plays would improve our team in that alone.

Denvers losing him after this season. They would be crazy to turn down a first for him especially if they have put him on the market. Denver should really hold a fire sale on their entire team.

I agree I just dont think Denver has accepted that or sees it that way.

Part of the problem is that TRob/Barton for Afflalo doesnt work in the trade machine on its own which means we have to add someone like Wright or Claver and I dont see them wanting to do a 3 for 1. If it had worked it would have been expiring contracts for Afflalo who is leaving and they gain a 1st rounder.

They could just include Alonzo Gee in the deal too. Saves them a little money that way. Robinson/Wright/Barton/#1 for Afflalo/Gee. Perfect.

Hell, if they wanted to save some coin on the deal, they could even include Darrell Arthur (instead of Gee).

I wouldn't be against trading Wright but I see it unlikely. He is a Dame favorite. But as was said, the problem is just TRob and Barton don't get you much (if anything).

I wouldn't be heartbroken over dealing Kaman, but I'd much rather deal Barton than Crabbe. However, with the CW being that Kaman's low-post scoring ability could be a valuable and important weapon in the playoffs, I think we'd be better off with a Robinson-based deal than a Kaman-based one.

If losing Wright is a problem (for others, not you), I think Robinson/Claver/Barton/#1 for Afflalo/Gee would be our best possible outcome. If Minnesota's interested in a deal, it appears that Robinson/Claver/#1 for Martin/Hummel also works (just barely).

I agree than T-Rob/Claver/Barton/1st for Afflalo/Gee is the best trade for us BUT we have to remember, we have to give to get. Losing Kaman is no skin off my back he was just a stop gap for Leonard+Freeland anyway, Crabbe would be tough to deal but if it meant getting a LEGIT player you move him. The 1st sucks to lose but who knows, Allen could possibly buy one of the 76ers or Celtics million picks.

I'd want Kaman to stay the year because he's getting through to Meyers. That more than anything is why; I don't want Meyers to backslide.

Supposedly, the main thing Denver wants is a pick; that's what we'd be giving to get Afflalo. What real use would they have for Kaman anyway? He's certainly no more useful to them as part of a rebuild than Afflalo would be. They would benefit more from the cost savings from expiring deals than they would from getting Kaman.

The fact that Kaman is more valuable to us than Robinson is doesn't necessarily mean he'd be more valuable to them. We're in completely different situations.

Kaman wouldn't be going to Denver in my hypothetical trade scenario. If Denver and us had a straight across trade it would likely have to be CJ+T-Rob/Wright+1st for Afflalo. They're still our rivals and they're gonna want the pick AND a prospect.

I have no problem with that type of deal though.

Well if thats the case, Dame needs to understand that the NBA is a real business and people do come and go.

Of course they're going to want that, but that doesn't mean it's available from anyone, and from what I'm reading, the pick is the deal-breaker, not the existing young talent. I doubt that the fact that we're in their division would cause them to refuse our #1 if we were unwilling to include CJ as well.

On a related note, this CBSSports article from Saturday basically says that Portland is the best match for an Afflalo trade, in terms of combined need and available assets.

This is just silly. Dame does understand it's a business. Those of you who are saying that if we trade Wright away that somehow that would make Dame want to leave don't know what you're talking about. Dame saying something about other players leaving doesn't mean he doesn't understand the business of the NBA.
