I addressed all of your points in post #11 - once again, you either missed them, or couldn't grasp it. Your # 3, 4 and 5 "points" - yes, its a wait and see game which I believe will be answered for the most part in the affirmative.....you disagree, fine. I liked Greene, wasn't happy with trading him, but the Yanks did "gamble" on Gregorius and I DID say there is a certain factor of "gambling" in making TRADES. And once again, I guess we'll just have and wait and see....Didi has struggled a lot vs LHP - he's also a 6' 2" 200 lb LH hitter who has already hit his first career HR at YS. And yes - the Yanks have not giving up a single highly touted prospect in any recent trades......and as far as the BP is concerned, I think they now have TWO late inning relievers who BOTH were more effective and dominant than DRob. Betances pitched approx twice as many innings as Drob last year....his work load whole should be less as the closer. Yanks also acquired a couple of effective LH relievers and by most indications, Lindgren is the goods and should see action with the big club this season. Starting rotation - AS I've SAID BEFORE, J think will hold it's own and not be an embarrassment. You're a naysayer...fine......As for the Yankees chances of being very competitive for a division or WC spot I say YES. PS, they have NOT handed out any new huge long term contracts which should come in handy down the road.....in two or three years.
...like I've said before, if a person tries really hard enough, they can talk themselves into believing just about anything.
And, obviously you think its some kind radical pie in sky dream to expect considerable improvement from the following 2014 numbers: Shortstop - OPS .579 tied for last in league OBP .287, 2nd from the bottom Total Bases, 2nd from the bottom Errors 16, tied for 11th FirstBase - OPS .687, 13th in league. SLG% .382, 10th in league. Total Bases. 227, 11th in league. OBP .305, 11th in league. Right Field OPS, .642, 14th in league SLG# .347, 14th in league Total bases, 206, 14th in league HR 8, 13th in league DH OPS, .662 12th in league SLG# .372 12th in league Total bases, 214 12th in league BA, .230 12th in league ONE intentional BB. lmao Left field OPS, 706, 8th in league, 15 pts lower than league avg. If you expect similar numbers from those spots in 2015, or criticize the GM and some others for expecting more.....than you are a weird pessimist or just trying to cover your butt after picking the 2015 team to barely play over .500 ball.
^^^what?....at this point, do you even know what you're babbling about anymore? ...but nice cherry picking. Here, I'll do some too; ...PECOTA and Baseball Prospectus have the Yanx projected for an 80-82 record. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/fantasy/dc/ http://www.pinstripealley.com/yanke...l-prospectus-pecota-standings-yankees-al-east ...Fan Graphs have the Yanx projected for an 81-81 record. http://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=Standings Pinstripe Alley have the Yanx projected for an 81-81 record. http://www.pinstripealley.com/2014/...lysis-tanaka-sabathia-betances-eovaldi-miller ...but yeah, according to you, I'm "some sort of weird pessimist".
I wasn't "cherry picking"....those stats I cited (post 24) were from five different areas of the lineup which were cold hard ugly numbers. And YOU are the one who is calling upon various articles and opinions...... I say most of those numbers from those areas WILL improve and quite possibly production from 2b and C as well....which leads me to a few of the reasons the Yankees will win approx 90 games. Easier to understand now? lol You should take your own advice: "here's a tip...stop buying into every freaking article that comes along and learn to think for yourself". You're better off listening to good old blg. lol
...wow, what a miserable wretch. ...are those links and projections also "weird pessimists" too?...yes, or no? ...sorry, but yes, what you're doing is by definition "cherry picking"...in case it totally escaped you, (and it generally does) ...I posted those links to illustrate how "cherry picking" is a 2-way street...and I even prefaced it by saying "Here, I'll do some too". ...are you caught up yet?...or do I need to type s l o w e r ?
As far as the OP the answer is most definitely YES. Of course they have a plan, unfortunately it doesn't start for another 3 years yet when they rid themselves of A-Rod, Tex & CC.
Your links provided nothing but cherry picking. According to THOSE geniuses, only two teams in MLB will 90 games and two of them pick Baltimore for last place three games under .500 with both picking Boston for 88 wins. And you call ME homeriffic? Lmao Those links are a bunch of horsesh!t. I've made my pick (Yanks), and gave my reasons. Enough with this.....let us see what happens when the bell rings. I submitted factual statistical proof showing the absolute dreadful offensive output from SS,1b,RF,DH and to a lesser degree LF. I EXPECT the numbers from at least a couple of those areas to improve considerably which will be a big boost for a team which was 3rd from the bottom in scoring last year. And the defense, bullpen and rotation will be at least good enough to pull it together. If YOU and your puppets believe those offensive numbers will remain the same, or worsen....then maybe you are the ones who need help. lol
...wait, you provided "actual proof"?...I see how it works, in your alternate universe, your stats are "proof" of the Yanx upcoming season but mine are "horse shit"?...gotcha. ...like I said before, the sad thing is that you actually believe everything you type. ...and I have "puppets"?....cool !
Your stats did nothing but maintain the status quo of those areas of offensive weaknesses I pointed out. I'm saying I believe the Yanks will improve their overall offensive output - which WAS their most glaring weakness - we've already addressed their infield defense which most of us agree should be improved, and most " baseball people" also agree this should help the pitching staff. Did you actually LOOK at those lousy numbers (facts) coming from DH,RF,SS,1B? Answer this - do you expect similar numbers (2015) from those spots in the lineup?
...answer my question first...."are the links and projections "weird pessimists" too"? ...you actually think that those people who published those projections did not also take your hand picked stats into account before making those projections? ...funny how you cherry pick stats to support your stance but when conflicting stats are presented to you, you simply discount them as being "status quo" only because you alone claim them to be so. ...this is hilarious.
...more "status quo" and "weird pessimist" projections...even from a hack I don't care for; http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:12279678
Am I a weird pessimist puppet? Fuck, go to DC for a couple days and this is what I return to? Pessimism starts at predicting 100 losses.
Actually I thought he was protesting with Al Sharpton over the fact that BUCKWHEAT hasn't gotten a lifetime achievement award yet.
^^^ well, tote does have a private jet...so he may have been able to fly to rub elbows with both Hillary and Al.
