And of course every goalie has some weaker areas, but we are talking about Cam and his ability to be our guy for 12-15 games or more. We are talking about Cam and his ability to be a # 1 like he wants to be after next season. And for that to happen, he must get better with rebound control, and we saw it on the 1st goal today.

McDonagh definately needs to be alot better, while Staal and G are what they are at this stage, while Boyle needs to start shooting more. They need one more physical guy with a hard shot.

Staal and Girardi are good solid dmen. Not going to be flashy, but get the job done. Very solid as 2 and 3 dmen. Klein has played more like a # 3 guy, but is the # 4 guy for us, which makes our D good and deep. And Boyle playss more like a # 4, but is the # 5 for us. Again good and deep D. Moore/Hunwick are very good for 6th dmen.

With that said, McDonagh is the key of course. If/when he gets back to playing like a # 1 stud, our D will be excellent again. That's the key, because 2-5 (Girardi, Staal, Klein, Boyle) have been very solid.

Lots of speculation in that article. Nothing suggests he had a dissection of the artery.

I am concerned and I was from the start. BUT there is nothing we can do about it. Just hope 2 weeks from now when he gets checked again things are good and he can play. If not we are done obviously. All we can do is wait, but I am concerned. When I read and hear things like hope to be back by the end of the season, that doesn't sound good.

It's up in the air but is what it is. For the time being dwelling on it does no good. He will be reevaluated in a couple of weeks or so and it will go from there.

All we can do is wait...agreed Mess. No point in going round and round about it.

Talbot simply isn't going to cut it. This team cannot afford weak goals every game he starts.

Funny...we posted at the same time. Soft goals every single game. Look at the save % the past few games...not good enough.

The bottom line is they're limiting shots and tough shots on him. The goals he's allowing are garbage.

Why did Lundqvist say in his press conference, "I am hoping to be back before the playoffs begin?". Doesn't that mean he is out for 2 months total? I know they said at least two weeks but it sounds like it is going to be way more than that. In Feb we are fine, but in March there are some tough games.

It's impossible to really know. We're not doctors nor do we have information on exactly what the damage was. He will be reevaluated in a couple of weeks and hopefully they can give a time table on when he could return.

I doubt he had any type of dissection as some articles speculated. That actually killed a cricket player from Australia late last year.

I think at this point Hank's injury is sounding pretty serious and anyone thinking he'll be back in a month is in fantasyland. What to do? Unless I missed someone the scrubs that are available aren't going to be appreciatively better than cam to justify moving assets for that we will need for another top 9 forward. So I think when all is said and done we roll the dice with Cam with a sprinkling of the kid for a game or 2 until hank gets back. If hank doesn't return which sounds also possible now I don't see us progressing far in the playoffs this year. And by the way as others have said despite cam being shaky it would be helpful if he didn't have to worry about his 2 star defenseman McD and Magoo constantly being a threat to score on him as the opposition. Staal and klein have been so much better than those 2 this season that I'm surprised AV hasn't switched them up for a bit till McD gets his head out of his ass and remembers he was supposed to be a top 5 D-man this year.

Talbots biggest issue from what I've seen is his timing on long shots and losing track of the puck when there's a guy in front. You simply can't play that position with a oh well I can't see attitude regardless of where a shot comes from. Watch the veteran goalies constantly fighting to keep the puck in sight.

I agree Mess...he struggles tracking pucks for sure.

As for Hank, it is simple to me. If he is not back for the playoffs we are going no where...period. So I won't even waste time debating it. I do agree unlikely he is back early to mid March. I said last week if he is back by the end of March that gives him 6 games to get ready for the playoffs, we have 6 games in April. I was shooting for 10 games, so for that he'd need to be back by March 26th. That is my hope/focus for Hank.

Has anyone brought up the fact how the Ranger management
has treated this "severe" injury? Truly one of the strangest diagnosis
from a sport franchise...................and to make it even more
ridiculous...........it is to the franchise goaltender. How bizarre.

So if the Jets are going into a semi-rebuild, then maybe they're willing to deal...you guessed it.
