Plus other prospects and a first round pick... I just don't see the fuss about Kane

I don't but if Kane does get it together they will have a pretty dynamic young team going forward.

Incredible trade for Jets. Myers is more overrated than Kane. I thought Bogosian was doing well. However, the fact they got back Armia who is very talented, Lemieux who is having a great year as a prospect and a first for getting rid of a moron and a solid defenseman is hard to believe.

I figured Buffalo would make both available because of their free agency status, wonder if Glen has even made any phone calls yet?

Glen will wait until March 2nd at 2:45. Then call Buffalo about Stewart. The Leafs about Winnik and Sant. And Zona about Vermette and Hanzal.

    :).

Santorelli is a lateral move i wouldnt even bother on him. Winnik would be useful. Im surprised Glencross name hasnt been mentioned more.

If they really are interested he's very attainable.

I have heard Santorelli a lot. Vermette a decent amount. Hanzal a few times. Never heard us mentioned with Winnik, which is a shame. He would be a great add for us. Then get a guy who can score 15 or so goals, and away we go.

Heard Boston really aggressive for Stewart. Word on Ranger front is
quiet..................too quiet. From past trade deadlines, quiet means
something will happen. This is Sather's meat & potatoes time.

McDavid is in the 2015 draft and it is a 3rd round pick, McDavid will be top 2 this year...and Buffalo will be # 2 worst case IMO.

Like when Sather killed it at the trade DL in 2012...not...:).

Sather usually doesn't do a lot at the DL (last season was special because of Cally and MSL). He makes his moves in the summer not at the DL, and that is what I am concerned about. We need help upfront.

Also factor in AV who is stubborn as hell... He probably thinks the team can go deep in the playoffs with Glass

I think Sather pushed hard for Nash in 2012 DL... That team lacked depth on the 4th line

I'm sure he did also strud, but guess what...he didn't get him and added nothing...that's all that matters. I don't care who he tried to get I care about how it ended up, and we ended up with nothing.

    From Rosen's Mailbag:

What are the Rangers' trade options on March 2? -- @YJZimberg
This depends on how the goaltending situation shakes out. Everyone around the Rangers is saying Talbot will be fine, but there's no basis for saying that other than he's been good in a backup role. But so far in four starts as the No. 1 (small sample size, I know), Talbot is 2-1-1 with a 3.01 goals-against average and .882 save percentage. Those numbers have to improve, particularly because right now there is no room for error without a proven backup behind him while Lundqvist is out. The Rangers need a third-line center that can win faceoffs and loosen some of Derek Stepan's penalty-killing responsibilities (Antoine Vermette? Martin Hanzal?), but they might have to adjust and go after another goalie depending on Lundqvist's prognosis and Talbot's continued play.
If they can get a third-line center they'll be able to move Kevin Hayes to the wing and scratch Tanner Glass and Lee Stempniak (if neither is moved in a trade) once Jesper Fast gets healthy. It would give them a bottom-six forward group that features a new center, Hayes, Carl Hagelin, Fast, Dominic Moore and J.T. Miller. Tack that on to a top-six with Stepan, Rick Nash, Martin St. Louis, Derick Brassard, Chris Kreider and Mats Zuccarello and the Rangers would be a tough out in the playoffs, provided Lundqvist returns.

Bingo. At least someone gets it.

Perfectly said. We have been saying it for a while. Sums it up well.

To be honest I am not worried about a backup long term because if Hank isn't back, and I would say by the end of March so he can get his timing back, it doesn't matter anyway. We aren't winning a cup without Hank, so I can't worry about that. So my point is yeah sure I would try and add a vet backup for Cam, BUT if it would come at the expense of adding a top 9 forward in any way, I pass and just ride it out with Cam.
