With all due respect, you are way off on this Grey. I don't care if the guy plays 1 shift a game, he is terrible and on the ice for goals against game after game, and he takes numerous dumb penalties as well. And KILLS every line he is on. So wake up bro.

That doesn't mean there aren't other issues, like holding leads and turning the puck over in their own zone, but as you said look at all the other posts on that already, didn't feel the need to repeat what everyone else has already said in this thread. I can if you'd like...

Sorry Grey, but Glass deserves every bit of criticism that comes his way. He is bad to the point that he is affirmatively costing games. I know there are other holes as well, just like on any team, but when you have a guy who is a minus 17, and going into last night every other regular player was a plus, that is a huge problem.

The most fascinating part of it is to look at his regular linemates. Dominic Moore is a +3 with 16 points. Jesper Fast is a plus. Stempniak is a plus. Yet somehow Glass has found a way to notch a MINUS 17 while getting a single, solitary point in 40 games. And if you remember that point, it was a great play by Dominic Moore around the net after Glass had just fired it in.

While we're talking about blown leads, how about Glass's play on Hedja that lead to the tying goal. Maybe it wasn't his man, maybe it was, I'm not sure. So I wont get on him for being late and giving up the first shot. But to just stand there and let Hedja, a guy who hasnt scored in a god damn year, get the puck BACK and get ANOTHER shot that ties the game, that's inexcusable for a guy who was brought in here to be physical and play good D. Watch that play again. He just skated next to him like they were going for a romantic skate in Central Park and let him tie the game. Garbage. It reminds me of his play last time we played the Avalance, when he failed to even get a piece of the puck and deflect it out of the zone and 10 seconds later it's in the back of the net.

Glass's season is full of plays like that. That's how you compile a -17 on a team with a positive goal differential while playing 10 minutes a night. It's not just bad luck and shaky play. It is complete incompetence on both ends of the ice, and he needs to go.

I mean when you say it out loud Prod it is mind-blowing. Dude is a -17 and no other regular on the team is a negative. Great point by you bringing up his linemates and their numbers. If you really think about it, it is almost impossible his numbers are this bad in comparison to the rest of the team. You have to be working to suck that bad IMO.

The tying goal last night is also a great point Prod. Just standing there.

I really have to wonder about AV at this point if he cannot see what we can all see. This isn't little things that maybe we miss as fans that a coach sees, like maybe Miller's issues, this is big stuff that is so clear you have to be in the bag for the guy if you don't bench him. I truly don't get it.

Greyv.................'he can go every night.....it won't matter...' BUT,
it does matter when the 4th line cannot do a thing on offense and
    breaks down on D.
It is useless to argue and rant about this guy. No one in Ranger
organization sees it or wishes do do anything about it........
I guess they are happy with only 3 lines. Pitiful on their part.

what this tells me is he is getting caught on the ice too many times during line changes if his centerman is now a negative too

Stepan with another game where he is a bumbling buffoon on faceoffs. He needs to be removed from that role.

It's the 'top pair' dmen, they let people walk around the net like they're window shopping at Macys.

It's Girardi with his potent "go down on his knee" move every single game. Every time he does it, the puck ends up in our net.

That's weird, when I see Girardi I see a guy who is one of only 8 players in the entire league with over 100 hits and 100 blocked shots. In fact, he's one of only three players with over 150 hits and over 100 blocked shots. But you're right, he's soft, lets people go right around him, and every time he goes down on a knee he misses the puck and the other team scores. Every time.

The guy could save you two from a burning building and you'd say he should have gotten there faster.

I think Girardi has been solid this year. The going to the ice at some bad times is a habit I wish he would break. Last night was just bad luck because he blocked the shot but it went right back to the shooters stick.

I like Girardi a lot but he does some strange things on the ice that end up costing us goals. He keeps doing it over and over again. No one said he is soft. Far from it. When he goes down on his knee and blocks the shot then it ends up on the opponent's stick and in the net 90% of the time. Sometimes he does not end up blocking the shot and just takes himself out of position. It's been going on for years.

My bad if it came across as me defending Glass....All I was trying to say was I'm glad we got the win despite blowing another lead late in the game. Doesn't look like Glass is going anywhere until Fast comes back so get used to him playing poorly, bringing the linemates around him down and probably being on the ice for a GA. It just gets a little boring when the Rangers win a hard fought game and people keep carrying on about how 1 player is so bad. Plenty of other things to point out from these games that people can discuss other than the painfully obvious.

Sometimes I wonder how player like Glass made it to the NHL in the first place. A career -55 player in limited role...LOL His career TOI is around 9:00 He must be one of the worst NHL players ever. His point total is 55 in 417 games.

Well said Prod. Girardi plays every game, over 23 mpg, against the other teams top players, year after year, but our fans knock him. What do you want from the guy. He is not perfect, but he is darn good. A true # 2 dman IMO. Be happy we have the D we do. Sure we can say we need a big physical guy, but I again say how many D's are better 1-6 in the NHL? And even more so how many D's are better 1-5 now that Boyle has been playing really well? And 1-4 when you have Staal and Klein as the 2nd pair? Not many I can tell you that.

I'm with the mattress police. They're no tags on these mattresses.
