This. Both are better fits (Meyers outside offense; Freeland inside defense), just lacking vet playoff experience.

If we are getting a veteran wing, sure, get a scorer. But for the playoffs, from the post position, the Blazers don't instant offense off the bench. They need a few minutes a game of good defense and rebounding.

If we can't get one of those, stick with the big men we have, and look for a wing who can both score and play defense.

    Lmao!!!! NoooooOooOoooOoooo

I was never on board with trading Aldridge. I definitely was on board with getting Larry Sanders though, but I think I wanted to give up Batum or something. Regardless, either one was pretty stupid now in hindsight.

Aren't the Mavs the only other team interested in Jermaine? If they get Amare you wouldn't think Jermaine would end up there too, right?

If the sixers buy out AK47, he might be a reasonable wing vet. Any thoughts?

Man I know he's got some issues (is it just weed?) but Sanders would be the type of risk I'd take because when he's motivated he provides exactly what we need. I might look into him this offseason.

Amare Stoudamire cannot be medically insured, plays no defense and is way past his prime. Saunders doesn't like to play basketball and would be the closest thing to a jailblazer you could put in our lockerroom....no thanks on both counts

Why would we care if Amare can be medically insured? We're going to be paying him the minimum.

You should do your research before stereotyping a guy. Sanders is more than a "jail blazer". He's literally an artist. You can question his commitment to basketball all you want, but grouping him in with the jail blazers is just lazy and ignorant.

He tore a ligament in his hand stemming from a bar fight, regardless of how people feel about marijuana, he's continually failed drug tests and faced suspensions, a failure to follow team/league rules, cruelty to animal complaints for leaving his pets outside in below freezing temperatures, fighting with teammates.
Are they horrible things on the level of, say, dog fighting? No. But he's far more than an "artist", and there's a clear pattern of stupidity and bad decisionmaking on his part. If we're a shit team with no real good future pieces, sure maybe I look to see if he could turn things around. But I fail to see how a headcase, poor lockerroom player with an inability to follow simple rules is "exactly what we need".

Calling my opinion lazy and ignorant? ok...I get the lazy part but personal insults are not cool dude. I have my own opinions about his character..and if you think being an artist gives a guy a "get out of being a jerk" free pass, you and I know different artists.

on the court, then how does the comparison not fit? Talented yet immature, hot headed, bone headed, easily distracted and frustrated.

Before this season.. Someone could make an argument that Larry Sanders just can't handle losing all the games the bucks lose.. Causing him to check out.
However it's clearly on Larry Sanders now because the Bucks are 30 - 23. Jabari Parker is out, they have another on IR right? but regardless when you lose one of the best players on your team it's supposed to be a "circle the wagons" mentality. Everyone is supposed to work harder. Larry Sanders still looks like he doesn't care.
The Blazers care when they lose. You can see it from Stotts/Wes/Lillard/Aldridge/Batum.
Larry Sanders shouldn't be playing basketball if he doesn't care.

"Ignorant" is not a personal insult; it simply means "uninformed". If it appears that your opinion is based on a lack of information, calling said opinion ignorant is not unreasonable, and certainly doesn't rise to the level of a personal insult.

That said, I'm inclined to agree with your lazy, ignorant opinion.
