Smith is not leaving Denver. When I am saying this, it's not based off my speculation, everything I am saying in this thread is carried over inside information from a reliable source (that has been correct about EVERYTHING thus far). J.R. Smith IS NOT leaving Denver in this trade.
Then why the hell would Philly trade him there when they could get younger players elsewhere. That's what they're looking for in trading Iverson. They're going to be rebuilding.

CB4, You don't get it. The Sixers already have two young atheltic swingmen in Iggy and Carney. They also have Korver and Green off the bench. They don't need Jr Smith, They need a big man in return.
Okay, if the Nuggets gave them two picks then the deal could work out. I know the Sixers already have Carney and Iguodala, but they dont have a young shooter, and both of those guys dont have the scoring ability that JR has.

It takes time, Iggy will be a dominate scorer soon enough.
I heard that Kyle Korver was someone they wanted to package into the Iverson deal. He can't do anything but shoot anyway..w/e..

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>NBA league sources say that the Denver Nuggets are close to a deal that would land Allen Iverson. A deal could be finalized on Friday.A source familiar with negotiations says it would be a complicated trade involving at least three teams and at least five players. In addition, the Nuggets would likely have to give up both of their first round draft picks in the next draft.</div>A.I and Melo?I hope the Cavs don't face them anytime soon.
If Denver lands Iverson... just wow! Iverson and Carmelo... two good friends... two 30-point scorers... that would just be incredible to watch. They would become my new second favorite team (behind Philly, of course). And no, they won't give up JR Smith in the deal... but if they did you can rest assured that they would want Korver back in return because they would lose Smith's outside shooting.Denver would run people out of the gym on the fast break... AI with Smith and 'Melo on the wings... alley-oops galore!
"Allen Iverson will most certainly be a Nugget. It's only a matter of time."From our reliable insider at RealGM...Congratulations Denver! All that remains is a few minor details, and the deal should be official (pending league approval).
Wow!I really hope it is not true.I love going out and playing the Denver with James vs. Melo, now they got A.I? Eh.
<div align="center">***** BIG UPDATE *****</div>The source I have been getting information from has confirmed that Allen Iverson WILL BE TRADED TO THE DENVER NUGGETS. It will likely be announced some time tonight, tomorrow at the latest. He has been told not to shell out the names in the trade, and it's killing him not to, but he has said that Allen Iverson will be a Nugget.

I broke the news before you! :dribble: This is great... I'm just happy for Allen, and I'm happy that we'll be getting Denver's two first rounders (supposedly), which gives us three first rounders in this draft. Now I'm interested in seeing when this trade will be announced. Denver plays tonight and I believe tomorrow night as well, then there next game is Monday. In order for Allen to play in that game he'll probably have to be traded tonight, because he can't play until the league approves the deal, and that wouldn't happen until Monday morning I believe.Sad thing is we have to wait another year for Iverson's return to Philadelphia (Denver played @ Philly their fourth game of the season), but Philly vs. Denver is January 2nd!
BigMo broke the news first? :bat: LOL jk I could care less. This is going to be AWESOME though, I can't wait to find out all the details, and what other team was involved (most likely Portland).AI + Melo = :shok:<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BigMo763 @ Dec 15 2006, 05:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Philly vs. Denver is January 2nd!</div>That will be awesome, but next year when they play in Philly, that'll be great. The Celtics play them at home tonight, so I won't see AI vs. Boston again until the day after Christmas (which isn't that far away either). But wow, just wow. I'm still so pumped up about this, and I have no friggen clue what teams are going to do defensively against this duo.
