<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>December 8, 2006 -- THE Allen Iverson Period in Philadelphia is rapidly dragging to an undignified conclusion. According to two agents whose clients play for the 76ers, Iverson went to team president Billy King this past Tuesday and demanded to be traded, something he professed repeatedly over the years he'd never do.</div>-NY POST-I feel for Sixers fans, my team the Celtics is in just as bad conidition as the sixers are. Although Paul hasn't demanded a trade....yet
Finally. But I doubt he is going to be traded this season. THe rumors in the summer were garbage. AI plays with heart and his teammates needed to step up because he can't do all his sh*t by himselfBut where could he go?
Supposively it's just a rumor, but if he really does I can not blame him at all. Even though I would love to see Iverson in Philly, he has literally done everything he could there to win Philly a ring and they have still done nothing to help him in return. IMO over 10 years there is enough.
Yeah, but Pierce has the comfort of knowing that the team has young players with potential, so he at least has something to look forward to in a sense. Iverson knows Philly's chances are basically done.I don't think a lot of Sixers fans will blame AI... hell, they were telling King to do Iverson a favor and trade him LAST year. Most of us feel bad for Iverson, appreciate that he's done all he could for the team and the city, and that it's time to let go.
Ed Snider, chairman of the 76ers just confirmed it during the game. Iverson did ask to be traded, and he also said that he most likely already played his last game for the sixers. I'm sad, I have mixed feelings...
I'm pretty upset..well I don't know how to feel. In a way I'm glad he's going to find something maybe better, but I also can't help but feel betrayed. They should have just dealt him away in the beginning of the season. Now the rest of these games are going to be absolute torture. :Swoon:
One thing that pisses me off is that Snider all of the sudden wants to get involved with us. This is the first time I have ever seen him, to be honest.I'm still not in 100% belief that AI feels this way though.
Trading AI from philly is just stupid. Hes done so much for the 76ers throughout his 11 year stay there. Hes a 30 nd 8 guy. Hes basically the man pretty much. They cant get equal value, this season would be a lsot casue your fans arent gonna be happy about that that have season tickets. Trading Ai is like the Pats trading tom brady it should never happen. Personally I want ai to be traded to boston so he an pierce can staright up sh*t on teams but I really want him to stay. When u say 76ers Ai is the first thing u think of, if u trade him the 76ers are a lost team just like the Cs right now. What the 76ers should do is try to make the playofs this year with Ai which they prob can and then go from there. Its stupid to trade him. Ai even said that he wants to retire as a 76er y not give him that after all the great years of service.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>http://www.bball-world.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=18655</div>yeah why is that posted under general NBA? Isn't it technically sixers news? I don't understand why people do that. I've done that a few times, posting news about a team under the teams section and then someone posts it in general nba. I don't get it :wtf1:

I think AI deserves a ring for his toughness and heart, but probaly would not get it in Philly. I love the Bulls and loved MJ, but to this day despite the whole dismantling thing by the crumbster, I liked he went out on top. His Washington days were sad, although at his age to averege 20 was a great feat.I like AI, I just don't want him to become Stockman. Malone, or Penny in the ring dept. (Although I don't think he ever get like -spent- Penny was.. )
.....and he's gone.http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2702501Looks like Phili finally had to part ways with him, hall of famer for sure and he gave it his all every year with the Sixers.
