He's not that bad; a solid vet that can defend and hit the 3. Hopefully we are covered at the wings so we don't have to have him play; but if Batum is hurt or someone is in foul trouble he can come in and not screw up to much. Think of Crabbe role earlier this year but with a player who won't be so nervous if his number is called in the playoffs.
TRob, Claver and Barton were going to be gone at the end of the year anyway, so the only real loss is a low first rounder next year. The Blazers gain Afflalo's Bird rights, so even if he bolts in the summer, they may be able to get something out of it via a sign-and-trade. Totally worth it to increase our playoff chances this year.
Eh, we will have his bird rights, so if Wes gets some kind of crazy offer we can still turn around and hopefully sign Afflalo.
Didn't say I was against moving him if there's a deal to be had, just that it's not a biggie to have him sit on the bench the rest of the season.
Haha, they actually are. The fools are talking about how other teams always seem to get something for nothing. Didn't they get Josh Smith and Corey Brewer for Moreys 5 day old Tunafish sandwich?
Aflalo is 10 times better than Brewer. Smith will kill their team, especially in the playoffs. Our moves makes perfect sense, their moves have serious questions.
You overlooked the point and assumed I was comparing talent. The point is those idiots don't even realize they got something for nothing a few months ago.
I doubt it; they probably think Afflalo would never play on that team, Montas is better than Rolo and the only reason the don't have Dragic is because Beverly is a superior defender.
I wonder if they get these guys through their physicals in time for Afflalo and Gee to be in a Blazers' uniform tomorrow night.
me too, wonder how much we'll see Wes and Afflalo playing together with Nic sitting? if Nic keeps shooting like crap we may see more of this then most of us think
It would be nice, but we didn't trade any rotation players so it wouldn't be a huge blow if they can't play.
Yep and imagine how good he'll be when you have a great distributor in Dame and a low post attention player in Aldridge? Afflalo is probably saying "pinch me I'm dreaming!"
I think Mag's point is that the free thing Houston got is like a dose of the clap after a drunken night with a barroom pickup.
