Let's be honest here. The true steal is getting rid of players with low Bball IQ (t rob and barton). When those players came in, I just cringed knowing we'd be a turn over fest.
The best part about this is there is room on the team for me now! I better go practice my Patty Mills towel waving.
It definitely puts Matthews possibly bolting in question. Not saying he wouldn't want to stay in Portland, but maybe we just can't afford him? I hope this ain't true
I can seriously see championship gold now, not even kidding. It's gonna take a couple weeks for everything to smooth out but when it does... We're going all the way baby!
I am pleased but amazed. I thought for sure Denver would get more then that for a solid 2-way player.
Hell, even his career avg (33.3%) is way better than Nic's 3 pt shooting this yr (27.1%) and Nic has taken a LOT (too many) of 3's
Dame/Blake CJ isn't really a PG Do we use our roster spot on a PG? Trade Wright and CJ for one out of left field maybe?
No. There are point guards obtainable in free agency. Guys like will Bynum and Jordan farmar aren't terrible third point guards.
I think it had to be in the back of Neil's mind. Wes is a huge part of this team. His intensity is as important as his shooting. But he is not a max player IMO. If someone wants to over pay for him then what do you do? Do you pay him more than 12-13 million a year? No way I pay him 15. Someone might be crazy enough to do it and I would not blame Wes for taking it.
I think CJ can handle the ball more with Afflalo out there.Cutting Blake's minutes to give them to CJ can work.
So in about two years Olshey has transformed a bench composed of guys like Jared Jefferies, Sasha Pavlovik, Claver, Babbitt and Nolan Smith into Blake, Afflalo, Wright, Gee and Freeland and Kaman. And two of his picks, CJ and Meyers, have shown a lot of growth. Very nice.
