Well, I might as well make this topic now. You knew it was going to come up sooner or later. But do you guys think we should re-up the Iverson to Boston talks? Personally, I think it's a no brainer for Ainge. Here's why: - We have plenty of young talent to pon off, and a big expiring contract in 2 years (Theo). - Iverson's value has decreased a bit now that he has demanded a trade, which gives King only a little amount of time. He was patient in the summer time when he got plenty of offers, but he can't be anymore. He just has to take the best deal thrown at him, and we really can send a nice package. Here's the big one - Ainge has been trying to get a star to go alongside Pierce ALL summer long, and he has said it publicly. He has called about KG, AI, JO, Marion, Lewis, etc. He even called about a Ricky Davis/filler for Artest deal last year when Artest demanded a trade. The best chance to Ainge to get a star to pair up with Pierce is RIGHT NOW! He won't get a better oppertunity than this one. We have the young chips, the picks, and 2 big contracts (Wally, Theo) to offer. If Ainge wanted to, he could get this done, and he should. But Ainge might never get an oppertunity like this again. A top 10 player in the league has demanded a trade, and we have a the pieces. His value went down a little. Ainge has to get something done! I would really want to keep Gerald Green, I'm just very high on him. But trade one of the 3 PG's (West, Telfair, or Rondo), one of Al or Gomes, one of Wally/Theo for the contract matcher, maybe 1 more player (like a TA or Scal), and maybe a future pick. Get Allen Iverson, Danny! You will never get this oppertunity again.
If Billy King was smart, he'd go after Gerald Green because I think he would be a great fit for the Sixers future, especially with Iggy being a little passive offensively at the moment.Anyway, I completely agree with you. From Boston's point of view this is the perfect opportunity to land a star player to pair up with Pierce. Sure, they won't win a championship right now, or might not even contend for one, but even if Iverson's game falls off a little bit he'll have enough talent around him to take a step back, become a distributor, and allow the offense to run through Pierce. But, if you guys are going to try to dump Scalabrine on us... forget about it!
This is a total dream trade...Boston trades: Wally Szczerbiak, Theo Ratliff, Delonte West and Leon PoweBoston gets: Allen Iverson and Andres NocioniBoston why?: Must I? Iverson/Telfair/RondoPierce/Allen/RayNocioni/GreenGomes/JeffersonPerkins/Olowokandi That is one sick lineup! They add scoring and toughness. Nocioni is putting up great numbers in only 27 mpg and would either get more minutes and put up better numbers or free up 10 more mpg for Green.Chicago trades: P.J. Brown, Andres Nocioni, Mike Sweetney, Malik Allen, and Viktor KhryapaChicago gets: Chris Webber and Leon PoweChicago why?: This is why it's a dream trade. Although they are getting rid of some dead weight they are also giving up a lot of bodies. Chris Webber is an upgrade at the 4 in my opinion. He is gonna give you more rebounding and scoring. He is a great post passer and would get Gordon and Hinrich some nice open looks. I think he would compliment Wallace down low better than Brown. Leon Powe is a Skiles player, Sweetney isn't so I think he would fit nicely into the Bulls system and get some minutes. One of the other benifits for the Bulls is that this frees up tons of minutes for Deng and Thomas. They can both play either foward position are a a big part of the Bulls future. I doubt Nocioni will re-sign anyways because he will want more minutes somewhere else and money as well. But like I said this is what really makes it a dream trade.Philly trades: Allen Iverson and Chris WebberPhilly gets: Wally Szczerbiak, Theo Ratliff, Delonte West, Mike Sweetney, P.J. Brown, Viktor Khryapa and Malik Allen.Philly why?: They are looking for a shake up? Here ya go. They get a ton of bodies in this trade, as would to be expected. They would have some other roster moves to make. Some easy cuts would be Ivan McFarlin, Steven Smith and Alan Henderson. Then I would say that Malik Allen would also be cut before(probably end up back in Chicago) then the last roster spot would be either Viktor Khryapa or Shavlik Randolph(and whether or not they saw enough of him before he got hurt).Delonte West/Willie Green/Kevin OllieAndre Iguodala/Kyle KorverWally Szczerbiak/Rodney CarneyMike Sweetney/ PJ BrownSamuel Dalembert/Steven HunterNot bad. The young guys will really have to step it up. I think Iguodala and Wally Szczerbiak would make for a nice duo. Sweetney is underrated I think, he is putting up 8/5/1 in limited minutes and I think he could really break out, if not they have the tried and true PJ Brown. They get some good veteran leadership in Szczerbiak and Brown aswell as a proven point in West who I think would be a great point for this team.Don't just hate, it took some time to put this together. Like I said, dream trade.

It's just, I don't want to give him up! lol Like I said in the other thread: Big Al OR Gomes (1 or the other), Wally or Theo (salary matcher, and Theo's expires in 2 years), one of the 3 PG's (West, Telfair, or Rondo), maybe another player (TA or Scal), and a 1st round pick. That for AI and maybe a Steven Hunter (who we could really use off the bench). <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Anyway, I completely agree with you. If Ainge had any sense and a brain, he'd do this... He'd MAKE it happen, and get Iverson onto the Celtics... Thing is, who knows how excited AI would be about this? To go from a bad team to a worse team in the same division, only to pair up with Pierce? Pierce is a great player, don't get me wrong, but that's really the only positive I would see for him... The rest doesn't fall into contention for an NBA Title... And I would think that'd be his goal at this point, to go from a bad team to a good/great team, as he's not getting any younger....Regardless, I'd love to see it happen!
well who else is he gonna go with that's gonna contend for a championship?the only other teams there are would need to give up their best veteran player to get himthe celtics are one of the few teams in the league with an overwelming amount of youth that has ALOT of potentialI would be happy if I were Iverson because Paul Pierce is a huge upgrade from Chris Webber
I'd say go after ANYONE that can help. This year the division is very winnable and I think that any combination of upper tier players that could come to this team can help us win.

Second of all, EXCACTLY - to pair up with Pierce. Think about it: you are an opposing team, who do you double? Who gets the last shot, nobody has a clue. They would be the best duo in the league offensively. Both guys are hungry as hell to win.
hell yeah we should. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that I want something to look forward to during games. Pierce deserves another all-star, so danny, here's you chance! go for it.
This shouldnt even be a topic of discuss. The Boston Celtics should do everything in there power to get ai here. Ai and pierce would be the greatest duo in the history of bball numbers wise, and we could be a very strong team in the weak east. Get Ai To boston Now. They should trade tony allen rondo big al nd wally and a 1st for AI and get this dea doneP.S They should find a way to keep G-Money and get AI then they would be a dynasty in the future.

The 6ers are probably the worst team in the league right now, but at least with Iverson they have something of value. In this trade they've gotten pretty much nothing but a backup combo guard, an overpaid role player, an expiring contract, and some spare parts. I want AI in Boston as much as anyone, but this is a little over the top. I don't think even Billy King is that stupid. I also doubt Chicago wants Chris Webber. They're looking at Garnett if they even make a move.If the Celts trade for AI I'd look for it to be something like1 or 2 07 1st round picks, Al Jefferson or Gerald Green, Delonte West, Theo Ratliff, and Rondo or Telfair
If you think about it, we could trade Theo,Tony Allen, One of our point guards (Most likely Rondo) and a 1st rounder for A.I. This would be the squad,PG - Allen IversonSG - Wally SSF - Paul PiercePF - Al JeffersonC - Kendrick PerkinsThats a pretty deadly squad right there.
It is a very nice line-up, but I would hope that Billy King at least tries to get one of your young big men back in return along with one of the PG's and either Wally or Theo to match the contracts.
