Nocioni is a typically versatile Argentine, able to play out on the floor, shoot threes, keep the ball moving, etc., while Haslem is a close-to-the-basket hard-hat. But much of the grit for their respective teams comes from these power forwards, both tough-minded, I'm-not-backing-down-from-anyone type of players.Shortly after he helped Argentina win the gold medal in the 2004 Olympics, Nocioni burst upon the NBA and made an immediate impact with his gung-ho style. Haslem, by contrast, made an impression by degrees, often getting lost (literally) in the shadow of Shaquille O'Neal and the brilliance of Dwyane Wade. Teams routinely played off him to double-team O'Neal, and Haslem was frustrated when he couldn't convert.Nocioni is more gifted offensively. He is averaging 15.8 points per game (through Monday) and is a solid 42.5 percent shooter on threes, which isn't even a part of Haslem's game. But Haslem has become reliable from short distance and is making 51.5 percent of his shots to get his 13.4 points a game.Nocioni will pound the boards, but Haslem is an elite rebounder with a 9.7 average and, despite his physical style, keeps his personal fouls under four a game. And to date, he has not thrown another mouth guard at a referee as he did in last season's playoffs when Joey Crawford gave him the thumb."Just about anyone in the league would've taken Nocioni two years ago," said one assistant coach who desired anonymity. "But Haslem has really come on. He's a solid pro who always guards his man and sometimes guards Shaq's, too. He has worked at his game and he is no small reason that the Heat won the championship last season."I concur. I like both of them, but I'd take HASLEM.</span></div>I like the smileys :601551001161179604:

Nice writeup, Give me Andres Nocioni. I love Haslem and his rebounding ability but Noc get's the edge. He's a great all around player, He might not be the rebounder Haslem is but he is the better scorer and he does it in a more efficient way. Noc is a tough defensive player, He hustles, He puts up better numbers in less minutes per game.

Balla, get that avy out of here! Make another one soon when he's holding up that green jersey! lol

Nice topic, nice write-up, very nicely set up. I am going to have to agree with Noc. I really like Haslem, he's an excellent rebounder and he's very strong. He really has a much better 15 foot shot than people give him credit for as well. But Noc has 3 point range, he's one of the toughest guys in the league, he can play offensively and defensively the 3 and the 4, he can be the guy to score 25 or the guy to be a role player, and he has a lot of passion. I really love Nocioni, and I think he is the better player. Haslem is a good player though, don't get me wrong, but Noc is on another level IMO.

hmm..both play different positions. But I'm taking Nocioni. He is an excellent driver, and he can shoot the ball very well too. If he took enough shots, he would be scoring as much as Richard Jefferson probably..His defense is also good..he rebounds, hustles, plays hard, etc..Haslem can shoot the 10 foot ball, and he rebounds, plays D, and scores downlow, but I'm taking Nocioni. He's more of a complete package.

He averaged 20/10 and was shooting over 50%. Nocioni is just better all around.

I love Udonis Haslem's game. He's one of the toughest defenders in the league and never quits while he's playing. That being said, so is Nocioni. Nocioni is a good defender and a better scorer than Haslem. Haslem is a great player and a good complementary talent. Nocioni I think has the potential to be an All-Star though. Not saying Haslem WON'T, but I don't see him as likely.

Nocioni. Nocioni can do everything decent. He can hit the three, decent passing ability, above decent rebounder. He has a better all-around game than Haslem
