I could see the Chargers playing some games in LA, but relocate? That would be a huge blow to a lot of season ticket holders here.

On Sundays during the season, I see a huge % of the people on the street wearing Chargers uniforms.

Also, a lot of the places near me are vacation rentals and fans of visiting teams rent those out and they go to the game.

The local economy would be hit Im sure, but would they loose a lot of fans from SD do you think? How far apart are proposed new and old stadiums? Whats the mind set down there, would the Chargers still be the "local team" if this happened or would people be pissed?

It hasn't seemed as if you guys have had pro-Chargers leadership there in a while. Maybe the average Joe Fan is still excited, but the government hasn't been in quite some time, and the newest mayor (iirc) has had about a year to get something on the ballot but hasn't.

There are plenty of fans around town, but not enough that go to the games. Until they changed the rules there seemed to always be a chance that games would get blacked out. I can't remember if any actually got blacked out. A downtown stadium would help with that (as would any new stadium with new revenue sources like box seats, etc). If that every happens I will be sooooooo glad to no longer live downtown. Padres games caused us major headaches and they never sell out. I can't imagine the traffic and general drunkenness in the gaslamp for a football game.
