Dirk, Dosen't always go hard at the rim, plays weak defense and isn't natrualy a strong type of player though I have to say he has defently become more of a tougher player since he came into this league.
Antawn Jamison is a perfect example. While he can post you up, he still goes for those little hooks inside. He's very afraid of contact, and during his time with the Wizards, I've probably only seen him dunk 2 or 3 times.
A NBA player/fan defines a "soft player" as one who is not tough, doesn't post up alot, and likes to shoot. Players like Raptors new found rookie, Andrea Bargnani fits that category, as most people claim, as he doesn't look big, doesn't post up alot, and likes to shoot. The opposite of that would be someone like Ben Wallace, who is huge, will literally run over you, and doesn't shoot much.
Jalen Rose. A player who is afraid of contact, and does not initiate contact, ever. Also, a player who plays little to no defense, and does not bring tenacity.
I would have to say the biggest is definetly Dwyane Wade. He needs to stop waiting for threes and slash more.Another is Chris Webber. All he does is stand at the elbow and shoot jumpers all day. He never posts up anymore at all even if he does only have one good leg. The only time you ever see him in the paint is when he's shooting that ugly hook shot.

I'm going to say Yao. It's not that he's a wuss or anything. He just throws up a lot of stuff that he shouldn't. I don't know, he just comes across as soft sometimes.

They are just so goofy.
Theres a major misconeption that ALL european players are soft. Theres a few, more of the better ones, that arent.Yao Ming isnt soft(international*)Dirk Nowtizki and Pau Gasol used to be but werent after rookie years both have grown into more stronger and agressive players.Peja is one soft mothafunka though. Gotta go with him.

But then again a lot of American players are soft as well...
Okay...leys just go ahead and say it. White players(most) are soft. j/kAndrei Kirirlenko isnt soft at all though. And I agree that players like Ginoble, Nocioni and Varejou arent soft either.

I would like to point out that all those players aren't European. Keeping the European sterotype alive. Wooohoo.
Watching the Nets play, Nenad Kristic seems pretty soft down low also. Able to be pushed around by many players, including people smaller than him like Shawn Marion. He likes to shoot to much, so I guess that is another european with that stereotype.
