Loaded in the sense that he's not gonna get any playing time with two established and well paid players in front of him.
Hahaha! Nah I just knew he wanted to go to a team he felt he would have the best chance of getting burn on. I think he will get the most in NJ
Im just glad he didnt go to spurs and turn into an all-star that kills us in playoffs for next 15 years
I really hope Philly picks him up because he'll start on that team. Shilly with the Philly but the question is will he?
http://www.csnnw.com/nba/report-76ers-put-waiver-claim-thomas-robinson Wojnarowski: Sixers need to reach 90 percent of cap before season's end. Robinson's salary gets it there. If not, shortfall divided among rest of roster. Stein: And claiming Thomas Robinson, if they do in 20 mins, would take Sixers from $3,034,872 UNDER salary floor to OVER. Robinson makes $3,678,360
I feel bad for T-Rob... Thought he was going to a potential playoff team in BKN, ends up having to go to Philly of all places. I hope he likes cheesesteaks because that's as good as its gonna get for him as a Sixer. Hell, that is the only thing that's good for any Sixer right now.
I think the Nets were offering a 10 day contract and Philly is offering to pay out his season. He'll play for a contract and could showcase his talents, it's not far from his home an the Nets can sign him in the offseason. Better than being buried on the bench in the western conference.
The only reason Philly took him was to clear the min cap restrictions set in place through the CBA. They might take him and buy him out so they are covered. The Sixers needed the sum of Robinson's remaining salary to honor the obligations of the collective bargaining agreement that dictate a team needs to reach within 90 percent of the NBA's salary floor before season's end - or pay out that shortfall amount equally among the rest of the players on the roster. Robinson's $3,678,360 salary pushes the Sixers over the salary floor. Denver is no longer responsible for paying Robinson's salary. After meeting the cap obligations they could then waive him and he would then be allowed to sign with Brooklyn or whomever he chooses.
