i want to see Sather be active and improve this team within a reasonable cost. This team is not far off and we could use that extra push. Faceoffs = puck possession so i think it's important we address that need.

Agreed. He cannot stand pat. If he does I will be very angry. As is this team is not winning a cup. Short a little depth upfront, and on D. I actually would make D the bigger focus, and then look to add a lesser player for some grit faceoff depth upfront and call it a day.

If he does nothing it will be a joke IMO. He has to get something done, even if he only has one bullet and adds to the D let's say.

I think Sather will certainly do something if the right opportunity is there. Yes, he made a mistake the year they lost to NJ in the ECF. Last year though swapping Cally for St. Louis was a pretty bold move in my opinion. It obviously paid off in the playoffs.

Jagr traded to the Panthers for 2015 #2 and Conditional 2016 #3.

    Devils will unload for picks.

Still some good stuff out there. Buffalo, CBJ, Zona, Oilers, Stars, and Avs still have moves to make.

Toronto could deal Booth and Jokinen.
Buffalo could deal Stewart and Meszaros.
CBJ could deal Letestu and maybe Leopold.
Canes could deal Gleason and McClement (who is real good on FO's).
Zona could deal Vermette, Erat, Michalek.
    Oilers could deal Petry.
If the Stars sell, and I think they should, Horcoff and Cole could be available.
If the Avs sell, and I think they should, Hejda could be available.

Zona and Buffalo are the lower teams that haven't fired their bullets yet. Make something happen Glen.

Slim pickins for the most part other than Vermette, Glencross, Petry and even Letestu.

We're gonna end up with Letestu, another sub 6', sub 200 lb hard working role player. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

I do think that Bozak will be a Ranger but it'll happen this offseason, when the asking prices of Zucc, Step, Hags and MSL are all on the table. My guess is it'll be John Moore, one of Hags or Zucc (whoever will be harder to sign), and Lindberg. For argument's sake lets say it's Hags that goes, as tying up over 3M in a 3rd line winger isnt ideal and the Leafs could definitely use a guy like that. Plus he's restricted, so the Leafs will have some security.

    Nash-Brassard-Zuccarello
    Kreider-Stepan-MSL
    Duclair-Bozak-Hayes
    Miller - Moore-Fast

    That's pretty good

Thats fair, it's just that the thought of landing Letestu, although an effective player for what he is, put me to sleep. Thought I'd spice it up a little bit.

Sather gives us Vermette and you'll never hear me mention the phrase "next year" the rest of the season

Tlusty was actually someone who can play C too so that was a big miss for what the Jets gave up for him. Sather could've beaten that.

Offering up a second for a 4th line player is moronic. Still say Bernier is perfect for our 4th line and I don't think he should cost more than a mediocre prospect or a 3rd or 4th round pick. Replace Glass with Bernier and the 4th line can be pretty good.

I could see Glen standing pat as he has done in the past if the deal isn't right. He's looking at a first place Rangers team ranked #2 in the NHL offensively and #4 defensively with a backup playing the last 3 weeks so I doubt he's going to bend over for another GM just to make a trade. Klein has been having a breakout year and Girardi has been his solid self but I think a defensive upgrade is Glen's highest priority. McD and Staal hold the puck too long before making a play resulting in a turnover, thinking too much instead of just playing the game. Boyle has been brutal, a zero defensively (which was to be expected I guess) and now suddenly when no one is around him he has started falling over onto the ice like a startled goat. Happened at least 5 times last night.

I just do not get this: Blackhawks acquire D Timmonen from Philly
    for 2015 # 2 and 2016 # 4. Timmonen has not played 1 game this
year due to clotting in his lungs. ????????????

Petry is right handed. If they get him, then they have convinced Boyle to accept a trade because AV is not putting a right handed defenseman on the left side.
