I agree 100%, but I expect Lillard/Aldridge to go get that ball. Batum did on the very next possession when the Blazers forced a 24sec shot clock violation on ibaka.

If we had kept Morrow in check for about a 5 minutes span and at least slowed down McGary we would have blown them out. Luckily we had Captain Blow-a-game save the day for us by trying to take over as usual.

On a side note I think AA got his first real taste of this team and the fans last night. He has been used to starting for a long time but he will be damn near idolized as a god around here if he consistently drops 18 off then bench. He has to be loving life right now.

It was a nonstop Westbrook jerkoff from the opening tip, with barely a thought given to the actual basketball game. The worst was his 15 minute Ode to Westbrook while Westbrook WASN'T EVEN IN THE GAME. For that entire time, that fucker Jackson barely said a word about the basketball game in from of him. At one point the play-by-play guy said something about "great footwork" by another player, and Jackson interrupted him and literally said: "Forget footwork, I'm talking about Russell Westbrook for MVP." Easily the most unpleasant time I've ever had listening to a basketball game.

Except ibaka didn't go straight up. His arms weren't straight up. That's why Stotts went nuts. If that was Meyers that would've been a foul.

Aldridge and Lillard played like superstars last night. They looked as though they were on a mission to will this game a win. The way Lillard was attacking was amazing, while Aldridge has become so money rebounding the ball and scoring in the paint.

    I just love this team

Ha. I just noticed ESPN MVP Westbrick was -12 for the game. Only Singler was worse.

Meanwhile, ESPN afterthought and much more efficient Damian Lillard was +12, and had the most important stat of the night: HE WON.

I re watched my recording of the game 3 times now. Doesn't get old. What a fucking game, and what a win!!

I'll be interested to see what RW's status is. Never seen someone get a dent in their face like that. Looks gnarly.

Afflalo had 18 points on 6 shots, and played 30 minutes. Also, he took turns with Nico D'ing up Westbrick in the 4th quarter.

    How sweet it is.

Yep, that was the sequence that caused me to switch over to the Blazers broadcast. Mark Jackson is a fucking idiot. After Steve Kerr, with no previous coaching experience, has taken the same roster from pretenders to contenders, Jackson will never sniff another head coaching job in the NBA.

So, now he's working on his schtick as a network bafoon. If last night was any indication, he sucks at that, too. I see a career as a freelance motivational speaker in his future.

One play I really liked late in the game, Afflalo boxed out Westbrick from getting an offensive rebound, and (I think) Aldridge got it thanks to his work. Doesn't show up in the stats, but plays like that win basketball games.

So I went back and watched the 4th quarter again, specifically the final 6 minutes of the 4th quarter. OKC was up 5 points at this point. Then Westbrook went to his hero ball mode.

In the final 6 minutes he attempted to shoot the ball 12 times and made 2 of them. He did go to the line twice (although one of them was Wes' stupid foul on the 3 attempt). But most of the shots were bad, like real bad quality and not even close. During that time there were 4 other shots. Three bad 3's from Roberson, Singler and Augsetine and the layup by Ibaka.

Meanwhile most of our baskets were 3's where we moved the ball, pick and rolls and LMA rebounding his ass off. Good team ball and hustle.

Westbrook's physical talents are truly undeniable but this is why I would NEVER want him.

Exactly! I was losing my shit listening to those announcers state over and over that he went straight up. His arms were obviously down at an angle. And when AA got fouled on that 3-pointer they said it didn't look like a foul... I slowed the image and the defenders hand was clearly on AA's wrist. One of my favorites was when Aldridge rebounded and scored about half-way through the 4th quarter, and the very next words out of Mark Jackson's lips were, "the game is too easy right now for Russell Westbrook." All game it was like I was listening to the OKC announcers. ESPN clearly had an agenda last night. Either that or they all experienced frontal lobe damage sometime before tipoff.

I fucking hate watching ESPN telecasts. It pisses me off that the NBA forces me to watch that shit!
