Columbus was thinking how stupid Toronto is for taking Horton. Clarkson can still play. Toronto had no clue how to use him.

Horton will likely never play again. Toronto will still have to pay him money but wont count against their cap. Columbus gets the same salary player but he will actually play

Every now and again Toronto does something mostly right. Clearing Clarkson's cap hit without giving up anything but the player himself is a good move. Horton is just a piece of paper at this point.

As Dis said, this seems like a perfect trade for both sides in my opinion. Horton's contract wasn't insured so CBJ had to still pay him. With Clarkson at least they're paying a guy who can actually suit up. Toronto just throws Horton on IR and clears the cap space, andtheir ownership can afford to continue paying him 26 million dollars even if he never plays. CBJ can't do that and still put a product on the ice.

    Smart trade for both GMs.

I like the move for the Jackets. That's because they have lots of young talent coming up. Especially at center and they could use a guy to play on their line who can protect them.

What nobody is thinking with the Clarkson move is now, they might seriously move Dubinsky. He's fallen out of favor with the coach. Hmmmm. Chicago is looking for a center aren't they?

    Dubinsky to the Hawks

    for

    1st
    McNeill
    Bickell

That allows the Jackets to then move Hartnell to a team, the Hawks to move Sharp to a team. That Clarkson deal opens up all kind of possibilities for the Jackets and a Jackets-Hawks deal.

Absolutely not. Come on Dump, no way they get a first for the same Dubi you've been ripping for years

Let me get this right. You don't think Dubinsky will bring back a late first when Sekera who has been half ass his entire career other than one season brought back a first? You're on crack. While I don't like Dubi's inconsistency. A physical, 40-50 point center who is good on faceoffs and is under 30 can easily bring back a late first.

Just announced that Dubinsky is concussed and out indefinitely. He's only played about 35 games this year as it is.

Doesn't matter. His concussion is not serious as they go and he doesn't have a history of it. I believe he will be moved at the deadline or in the off-season.
