...wow, desperately dredging up 5 day old posts of mine, and then irrelevantly bringing up Tiger Woods just to bump this thread?

Meh. If we all picked 90 wins he'd be on another number just to avoid being in the herd. And frankly I don't see 80 wins as waving a white flag. I hope they win more, but would not be surprised if the win less. Heck, we have no idea about team leadership or chemistry at this point in time.

The season will start soon enough, plenty to debate then.

...tote, the one singular thing that he cannot grasp is that I'm a die hard fan, always have been, and I'm certainly not "waving the white flag"

...but that does not/should not imply that I'm homerishly blind to what I've witnessed lately and what I foresee for this season.

...it's not like I'll stop watching the games if they're mediocre again this year and I really do hope they win 90+ games...but I simply don't see anywhere near as many things to be optimistic about as he does.

...if that makes me some sort a bad fan, well, I guess I am.

Nah, your not a "Homer" or a "bad fan", your a realist....., and like most 'die-hard Yankee Fans,' hoping for the best, while simply stating the obvious.....

Keep in mind, "there's one in every crowd".....(1 who lacks for attention, tends to shit on our parade).....we've come to a consensus, I'd say.....we all know who that One is: (see below)-

I respect your opinion, if you wouldn't be surprised if they won 79 or less games that's fine with me.
As for team "chemistry" as in good chemistry, it usually begins (IMO) to show itself around June with teams who feel they're never out of a game because they can score runs and have good enough pitching to keep them in games and a bullpen which can lock down the last couple of innings.

The three biggest reasons (IMHO) which demoralize a team, thus bad "chemistry" are:
A team which knows it usually has a hard time scoring more than 2-3 runs a game.
A SP staff which puts the team behind by a few runs by the 5th inn.
A bullpen which blows games after the team rallies for a lead.

But of course we already knew that.
And as far as a possible Arod circus, if he happens to make the team...unless He's picking fights with members of the team - as long as he (and the rest of the players) continue to play hard and hustle, there should be no big issues......remember the Bronx Zoo teams of the late 70s.

Winning creates GOOD CHEMISTRY , not prayers at the dinner table. lol

Sadly the circus has already begun with A-Rod in the news & papers every damn day which IMO can only destroy team chemistry. No team should ever be all about one guy.

...hate to say it, but since Jeter left, ARod is now "the face of the Yankees".

Would it be safe to say, Alex is the face of the Yankees now, with Jeter gone, and also the ass of the Yanx and/or MLB?

And that may have a lot more to do with the absence of star FA's.....

No actually YOU'RE shitting on MY parade.....I'm fairly convinced the Yanks will do CONSIDERABLY better than most think......now there's another word for you to mock and ridicule......"considerably" better. Okay you want an exact number? Sorry pal, I don't have that power within me......
....instead of using the new dirty word- "approximately" (90 wins).....I'll substitute these words: the Yanks will win about 90 games.....and YES, there could be a chance they win 91-93 wins if most of their issues are answered in the affirmative.

Knowing how some of you guys think, if the Yanks were to win 92-93 wins, you would hold it against me for saying approximately 90 wins instead of OVER 90 wins....or for not saying "exactly 92 (or 93) wins".......

    Hilarious.

Tiger was one of your top positive predictions for 2015.....lol...
Makes me feel kinda warm and fuzzy also knowing you picked the Yanks to win 82 games......or was it "approximately" 82 wins...lmao.
Keep up the good work....good stuff.

As long as the media feeds this crap to the 'dense' public, he will be.

As for me, not in your lifetime. :protest:

Since we're talking predictions, I'm going to predict that you're not going to let this topic go anytime soon.

I'll let it go but Rick, you surely must understand as I have the small minority opinion about expecting the Yanks to do better than most, I have faced my share of a few sarcastic snide references/remarks which sometimes questions and doubts MY honest unbiased reasoning, and intelligence.....its okay, I'm a big boy....
    ......its all good.
I'm done with this unless someone else wants to revisit it.....and that's also fine with me.

...that was an entirely different thread and has absolutely nothing to do with this one, and you know it.

...wtf does me predicting Tiger would have a good year have to do with this thread? You're simply perpetuating this abortion of a thread for your own misguided and obsessive reasons.

...you can try and deny it all you want, but this whole thing has become personal with you...and that is your problem, not mine.

But really, don't you find it funny that after picking Tiger to have a big year,at the start of the NEW YEAR , he then proceeds to shoot his worst score as a pro then conveniently goes for back surgery.
Seems like his back or knee always seems to act up after he sucks. Lmao

Tell us some more Arod stories.....I could use a nice bedtime story. lol

I think we have beaten this to death then dug it up to do it all over again.
