The coyotes haven't been that good defensively. Not all Yandle's fault

Jesus christ Step you are one miserable person. Have you seen Mike Smith play? Possibly the worst goalie in the league this year. Vermette was a -23 over there this year and every team in the league was after him for his 2 way ability. Yet let's get on Yandle for his plus minus.

He leads the league in power play assists. Our powerplay sucks. It's a perfect fit.

I am with you dump. A lot of guys 30 or under. And like it or not, with Hank 33 now we have a 3 year window to focus on. This year and the next two. That is the focus. This move shows that. I give Sather credit for it.

BOTTOM LINE we are HANDS DOWN much better this season and next season with this deal...PERIOD. And that is our window...and maybe the season after that. Hank through 35.

Cannot please you Step. The D sucks...the D sucks. Now we have maybe the best D in the league, and you complain. My god it is funny.

HANDS DOWN we are better today than yesterday. HANDS DOWN we are better through next year also with this deal.

That is the focus. This is a now team.

    Two questions Step:

    1. Are we better this year with this deal? HANDS DOWN YES.
    2. Are we better next year with this deal? HANDS DOWN YES.

Done...conversation over. I will worry about 3 years from now...3 years from now.

    Two things I wonder:

    1. Can we now add a depth forward like McClement or Bernier to complete the team (McClement would be huge for faceoffs).
    2. Who sits for Fast tomorrow night? I would guess Stemp.

And if Buchnevich adds 10 lbs by next year, watch out for this team. So now they have no space i guess for anything minor tomorrow, but perhaps they deal Fasts 1m straight up for a 4th line type and mid round pick.

We improved the offense on D only. Like we dont score enough goals already? Like I said knock on him has always been his d. LOL...he has played under one of the most defensive coaches in Tippet and still a minus player for his career.

Let me give you a little newsflash Step.

The Coyotes have made the playoffs three times with Yandle.

    09-10 - + 16
    10-11 - + 12
    11-12 - + 5

Says a lot to me. The team was BAD the rest of the years. Like sc said Vermette was a -23 for them, yet everyone wanted him. Team was awful, is what it is.

Update does say 2016 4th rounder from them. That is okay, doubt they get great in one season. Sure it will still be a top 5 or 7 pick.

No Step they improved the offense at forward to a degree too with an assist man like Yandle.

And saying the PP is 11th is kind of misleading. I want to say we are 2-30 over the last handful of games, with both goals coming against Zona.

Again, we gave up NO ONE that would be on this team this year or next year, and added Yandle, one of the best offensive dmen in the NHL. Seems ike a darn good deal to me for a WIN NOW team.

And keep in mind for people crying about Yandle being shaky defensively...he was the Yotes number 1 dman. Meaning he was seeing top lines every single night and had what kind of forward support? That's a bad, bad team over there. here, not only will he have a much better team, but he wont be asked to play shutdown minutes. He's gonna run the powerplay and he's going to be JUST FINE defensively paired with Klein against opposition 2nd and 3rd lines.

You think he is paired with Klein and Staal gets paired with Boyle? Interesting to see what AV does there.

Dude, that is a great D. Not sure how any team can have a deeper D than that. If our 3rd line continues to be a threat we can be the cup fav.

They gave up a lot but fuck yeah this team is trying to win a cup and Yandle is a huge difference maker.

This is a huge huge deal. It's a very good deal for AZ too. They can build around OEL Domi Duke 3 #1s in 2016 and possibly McDavid

Rangers are well positioned for a freaking Stanley Cup. Omg

The bottom line is you have to give up something to make a big deal. Duclair might very well turn out to be an excellent player.

I would not be at all surprised if Sather tries to ship out Boyle before 3PM tomorrow now.
