DALLAS (Ticker) -- The Denver Nuggets open a five-game road trip against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday. The surging Nuggets - winners of eight of their last 10 contests - are coming off a 123-107 victory over the Miami Heat on Friday. J.R. Smith scored a career-high 37 points and tied a team record with seven 3-pointers.Carmelo Anthony - the league's top scorer - netted 32 points and Andre Miller tied a league season high with 20 assists for Denver, which shot 54 percent (46-of-85) overall. However, the Nuggets start their trek in Dallas where they have dropped 16 of their last 17 visits. After a 12-game winning streak was stopped, the Mavericks have responded with a win and a loss. Most recently, they endured a 92-82 setback here to the Detroit Pistons on Thursday.Dirk Nowitzki scored 29 points and Jason Terry added 17 for Dallas, which was outrebounded, 44-36. http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/preview?gameId=261209006Should be a pretty good game between to above average teams. I'm looking for Dallas to win this game as they bounce back from that loss against the Pistons.
Mavs score 41 in the first quarter. Off to an awesome start. Terry is approaching this game great and has a ton of points. He's kind of been in a slump per say that last 10 or so games and its good to see him playing great again. Lets just hope this ends the slump. Also, good news for Mavfan, both Stackhouse and Croshere are out for the game and listed day to day. :winkglasses:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>both Stackhouse and Croshere are out for the game and listed day to day.</div> Hmm, precursor to an Iverson deal? Nah. I was able to watch the 2nd half of the game, coming home from a screening of We Are Marshall(good film, had it's cliche moments that to me kind of took away from reality). We seem to always jump out to a good lead but then blow it where it becomes interesting. I don't like that trend, I wish we could just put them out and let some lesser known guys play.
It kind of worries me when the bench only scored like a combined 11 points. Show you how important Stack really is. The reason we scored 41 in the 1st and 4th is because that's when the starters played a ton of minutes. Terry, Dirk, and Howard played the whole 1st. We only have marginal scorers off the bench when Stack is out. It hurts us also that Harris is coming off the bench like last year as well. He helped score and keep up the pace with the 2nd unit. Howard had a great game with 30 and 11. Dirk scored 25 while only shooting the ball 15 times. Pretty good in my book.
Rok dont say that, lol.Kinda a fun game, alot of good plays. I was gonna go to this game. I was waiting for Terry to break out and have a 20+ point game
^ I know...lol.I don't think AI would be a good fit here...allthough it'd probably make us better....I just don't want to give up the young guys or depth to get him.
^Most likely it would involve Harris. He's young, has tallent and shows plenty of potential. Trading him results in a aged high payed Iverson. I dont see it being worth it in the long run
