I am happy with this hire even with his off-field issues because that was a decade ago and it was just 1 DUI in 25 years of coaching....The guy has had a lot of success in college and also has NFL experience, even though he wasn't too successful there. He won a couple championships with Miami and did well as a Pac-10 coach with Washington State and Oregon State(won a Fiesta Bowl with Beavers). He has a good record as a college coach and should do well recruiting. I'm really happy with the hiring. He has a somewhat bad reputation but really, you HAVE TO cheat in recruiting if you want to win in college football. The teams that get the dumb players win. All I'm worried about is how long he stays here. I hope he at least gives ASU 5 solid years.
I don't think they'll lose that bad. Hawaii hasn't done anything against any decent teams that they have played. I think they will win but ASU should do well in the bowl game.
