giving up what they did. Ever since they made that trade they have sucked. Giving up a good prospect and a first for two role players. Morons.
I don't agree. Again to me it isn't simply do they win a cup or not. By law of averages 95% of DL deals are going to be losers, only one team can win the cup, that doesn't make all DL deals bad except for the team that wins the cup. To me giving up a pick in the 20's is worth getting Franson AND Santorelli. That's how I view it. You and I will never ever agree on this...ever. You cannot judge these deals solely on cup or no, otherwise they are all terrible deals except for one team, and I just don't view it that way. To me I give credit to teams who actually take a chance and go for it. Especically a team that hasn't been great the past few seasons like the Preds, good for them.
You thought too much for Vermette, Hawks have won two straight. Didn't like Perron or Winnik for the Pens, and they are playing well. Glencross has scored two goals aleady for the Caps, and you thought they overpaid for him. Point is I like teams that go for it. Some work out and some don't. Big picture almost all don't truly work out if the cup is the final goal. But to me I still give these teams credit for taking their shot. That is where you and I will always differ on this topic, and that's okay in my book, we don't always have to agree.
It certainly looks like the Blues now have a good chance of overtaking them in that division. Los Angeles on the outside looking in playoff wise right now.
Very interesting year. I think the favs are the Hawks in the West and I think I'd say us in the East, but it is WIDE open. 4 or 5 teams in the East and 4 or 5 teams in the West can go on a run to the cup. I like the Blues a lot, to me I believe they have the most talent, but I just don't know if I trust their goalie Elliott. That is what concerns me with them. If he plays well they clearly can win it all. The Hawks are obviously very talented as well. The question is can they get through two rounds without Kane? In the East the Habs are really good, and Price will win the Vezina and MVP this year, but will they score enough? With the Pens defend enough and what about MAF? TB looks really solid, but I question their D as well, and will their goalie play well in the playoffs? I can see the Hawks and Rangers being the favs, but throw a dart and good luck. Typical NHL playoffs....
