    I've been championing Seth for a while now.

    His stats in the D League have been nothing short of amazing:

    24 pts, 4 rebs, 4 asts, 48% FG, 48% from 3 in 37 mpg through 36 games this year.

    Give the guy a chance, Neil. He has to be better than Blake.

    Actually, I always kinda liked Delfino. But I think he is pretty old and last I heard he had a bad knee injury or something.

    Or perhaps Chris Babb would be a better fit. It says here that:

    "Unselfish player who’s shown he will buy into team concept. One of league’s top perimeter defenders, could potentially guard two positions at next level."

    It seems to me that our biggest need with Wes out is a top flight perimeter defender.

    If Babb couldn't stick with Boston I'd doubt he would do anything here, plus he is 25.

    1. Some players bounce around before they're appreciated. Like Dante Cunningham. Or Zach Randolph. Or Hassan Whiteside. Or Danny Green.
    2. 25 is not exactly old.

    Plus, here's evidence of a Portland-Babb connection!

    Out of the players you listed, Danny Green is the only guy that you can fairly compare Babb to and even then Green went to UNC and was drafted to a contender right away (albeit a 2nd rounder). Guys like Z-Bo and Whiteside are bigs, bigs take awhile to either mature into their bodies or adapt to the NBA game, guards who are good usually only take a season/season and a half.

    Being 25 is kind of an issue IMHO, why would we sign a guy who is basically the same player as Crabbe (who is 3 years young and has played two seasons in our system)?

    If we are gonna sign someone I hope it's another PG who can shoot or a pure scorer who has shown the ability to get the job done at the NBA level (E.G. average over 12 PPG).

    Sim Bhullar from the D league. 7 foot 5 inches and 6 really good fouls on Dwight Howard in the playoffs. Otherwise E-Will would be nice to have back for the rest of the year.

    I don't think that's a very good generalization, as guards can get away with different things at the college level too. For example, Jerryd Bayless is only now a solid contributor for the Bucks because he's finally learned to be an adequate PG. And there are players like Patrick Beverley who went to Europe to do that. Babb, meanwhile, has shown a sharp improvement in the D-League, which is a good sign. Sometimes guards are overvalued when they're young because they're super-quick (Telfair, e.g.) but never develop solid skills otherwise. PLUS: defense is something that usually takes time to develop, which is why Bruce Bowen and Tony Allen were passed over when they were younger.

    In general, teams with systems are better at finding undervalued players and exploiting them for their appropriateness to the system. San Antonio is the gold standard, of course, making useful players out of Danny Green, Gary Neal, Matt Bonner, et. al., but I think we have a similar thing going on now with Stotts.

    If he's good, then it looks like he's NOT the same player as Crabbe.

    Any suggestions? But in general, I don't think "pure scorers" are necessarily that great, otherwise Nate Robinson wouldn't keep bouncing around. "Pure scorers" tend either to be inefficient selfish gunners, or locked up in long-term huge contracts.
