    I think it's great that someone put that out there and possibly planted a seed of doubt and discontent in Durant's mind. :)

    That's precisely what I see happening. Or else Durant just signs elsewhere as an UFA. OKC is done as a franchise.

    Could we get Durant without giving up LA/Dame? Afflalo/Batum/Lopez for Durant? I would do that deal.

    I don't like Durant so I wouldn't want him in a Blazer uniform. I rather we add another good scorer (Like a Tyreke Evans level guy) to our rotation.

    Don't like Durant? I'd have a hard time passing up Kevin Durant (without giving up Dame or LaMarcus). I wonder how the chemistry would be as far as the system and how many shots there are to go around. Can Durant and LaMarcus share the ball? After living with Westbrook for so long, it would probably be a breath of fresh air for Durant in Portland. How about LaMarcus? Would he end up having to play closer to the basket more? As much as I'm sure LaMarcus would say he'd be glad to get Durant, if Lopez is gone, LaMarcus might not like the dynamic as much.

    Can you imagine how Durant would open the floor for Lillard?

    Hell, maybe we trade LaMarcus for him instead and go with Lopez and Beiber?

    Spurs are getting serious too. The standings may look mighty different at the end of the season. Spurs are legit contenders for #3 seed.

    This just drives me nuts, making it a racial issue when it's clearly not. But if baseball is the model the PA prefers, then let's go with it. Let high schoolers declare for the draft, or require them to stay in school for three years. Win-win for everyone.

    I agree, turn the D-League into a farm system too.

    I honestly believe the age restriction is a great thing, it gives these guys two extra years to grow into their bodies and develop their games. Would make for more fundamentally sound players IMHO.

    Oh, but we're artificially restricting people's ability to make a living!! Yeah, just like every other business entity that requires a college degree to do an entry level job. Hey Gary Kohlman, guess what--private industries set rules for employment that they feel are to their benefit. This is not a new thing, nor is it exclusive to sports. Claiming it's race-related is insulting and disingenuous and--news flash!!--doesn't serve your constituents' best interests.

    Yeah, think about it. Every early entrant takes money away from players presently in the union, shortening their careers artificially in lieu of unseasoned youngsters not ready for primetime yet. Not to mention that if these newbies were to spend a few years learning the team game in college, they'd be better prepared to contribute in the pros, and make for a better product once they get there. Also, players that the public knows from college increase eyeballs in the pros. Better product and better name recognition will equal better ratings and more money for the players.

    But let's not let reality get in the way of perpetuating the adversarial anti-management mindset that is so pervasive in labor unions. Heaven forbid union lawyers and reps actually promote collaboration. :MARIS61:

    I think you should be able to play in the NBA if a team is willing to draft you. Free enterprise. The idea that a year of college makes you better makes no sense to me. You learn more if you're actually in the NBA. Four of the greatest players of all time (Kobe, LeBron, KG, McGrady) came to the NBA directly out of high school. It would've been silly to make LeBron play in college.
