I don't like losing. My.point was that between that incident and me saying he won't do it his motivation would likely be against me. I still don't think he will do it, so.....whatever. Booze in Vegas is cheap so if you want I can buy you something here if I lose and ship it. My mom freaks out about the price of Grand Marnier here. ; ) If I lose I won't count the shipping.
Good luck bodyman, but even more good luck to kingspeed. Eric - get off your ass and start training, things just got serious!
In a marathon, it's important to wear the lightest apparel reasonably possible. Since this is NY, you probably want one of these: http://www.bulletproofvestshop.com/lightweight-bullet-proof-vests/
Ummm I'm going to train for it. I start a running class next week and people are giving me lots of advice about the serious training which will begin in June.
Thanks. I'll finish. Someone in my building did it last year and I told her it was something I always wanted to do but was afraid to. She encouraged me to do it. I'm always so amazed by all the runners walking around the city. I've always said the two things that scare me the most (because I'm drawn to them) are running a marathon and doing standup comedy). If I pull off the marathon, you'll see me in comedy clubs next year.
Good luck, it's always a combination of daunting and exciting to tackle something that's out of your wheel house. Right now I'm just over halfway towards losing 130lbs, and I kind of felt the same way about attacking that goal as you do about the marathon, always wanted to, but seemed scary to try. But once you get neck deep in the project, it starts to get fun and becomes it's own form of inspiration. Keep us up to date on your progress, and post some pics building up to, and including the big race.
Standup is very hard. It's not something you can just try, you gotta commit and be okay with eating shit.
