We'll see what happens. Had a feeling he was going back anyway, with the team not headed back yet (they're hanging in DC for the day). I'd assume he misses this weekend's back-to-back at the very least. Anything more than a few weeks is a big problem for us. I will say this though, if there is EVER a time to give McIlrath some NHL burn, this would be it. Firmly in a playoff position. Back-to-back games against weak teams. Hole for a right-handed dman on the third pair. I mean this is tailor-made for him. We'll see what AV hates more, the idea of playing L-L on the third, or the idea of playing Dylan. Keep in mind, McIlrath isnt exempt from waivers next year. This could be the last chance we have to get him up for a few games and send him back.
If it is a broken clavicle, 6 weeks to 2 months. I am hoping it's not that. Someone mentioned Plan B. Which is what? That would not be McIlrath.
Take this for what it's worth, slow day at work and was poking around Rangers sites seeing if there was any info: Kevin Klein will not be able to fulfill his appearance obligation on March 16th at Legends Gallery due to a broken arm. http://www.legendsgallery.net/index...th=285&zenid=c12d70fa4d2c040fd2a1f72f2a22fb96 No way of knowing if that's what Legends was told, or if that's how they interpreted it. It's oddly specific though, it's possible his agent let it slip when cancelling the appearance. Legends is a legit entity.
I think it is very legit. If true, and I expect it is, he'll be done for the season. A big blow, but thankfully we added Yandle. Our D is still top notch, but now we need Yandle to get comfortable quickly AND Boyle to step up his game and be solid. Most teams would love McD/Girardi and Staal/Yandle as their top 4. Who is the 6th guy? Do you just play Hunwick? Maybe the guy we got from Zona? Maybe they try McIlrath? Don't know, but I still believe this team will be a SC fav and keep winning. Tough loss though. Outside of goalie, he was top 6 or 7 most important players on the team IMO.
