    Mark Coleman needs hip surgery that will cost $20,000. He is using gofundme to raise the funds. About half of the money has been raised by there is a significant amount yet required.

    If you haven't heard the Mark Coleman story that Joe Rogan tells, it's well worth your time. Dothan, Alabama sounds like an interesting/horrid place to be in the 90s.

    I don't know why the goal was raised. I'm not sure how gofundme works. Maybe it is tiered. Maybe they saw the support rolling in and figured they could ask for more.

    TBQH I have no fucking idea how the American health care system works or doesn't work. The site says he has insurance that is about to run out.

    This article says hip surgery can cost from $11,000 to $125,000 without after care.

    Fundraising has tapered-off.

    Makes you wonder if they had set a goal of $50,000 to start with where they'd be at...

    $42,000 is nothing insubstantial, for sure.
