All-time Cleveland Indian great 3B died yesterday at age 91. Known as "Flip" and "The Hebrew Hammer" by fellow ball players. Used to hammer Yankee pitching. Another memory gone. R.I.P.
Damn good player, Rosen was part of a pretty good infield and Cleveland Teams of the late '50s. All those great past players are slipping away.

RIP for a Great Man, Ballplayer, 53 AL MVP...... became a Legend in the Baseball Memorabilia and card market, known as "Mr. Mint", who was but one of very very few, who could buy out a 1 Million $$$ collection. There was no other Collector, Seller of Buyer who had anything near what Al Rosen/Mr Mint had in his massive collections. Al became the King of Cards, with little competition...
He had one of the best offensive lines in 1953 leading the league in 7 offensive categories. Sadly he lost out on the triple crown when Mickey Vernon beat him out for the batting title by ONE (1) point 337 to 336.
What I'd give to see Bob Costa's or any other Veteran MLB Anchor Interview each one of these men. I know with age, comes alot of memory loss, more to some than others. Yet- I'd give anything to hear Whitey Ford speak, especially about all those great Yanx Teams he was on, as well as his feelings about the game today vs yesteryear, including, in his opinion What Batter's gave him the hardest time.... I've heard Marichal and Gibson in short interviews in the last year. I see Koufax being interviewed still quit a bit, now in ST moreso than during the year. Sandy is always available for interviews it seems during ST. Glad to see him still come out to ST, and give his input on Bums Pitching. Hell, I'd love to hear any of these guys speak, in a current day interview....! Get it before its gone....!
Back in '57 I went to a baseball clinic in Norfolk Virginia conducted by Bob Feller, the park was packed and though I was a kid Feller seemed to have all the speed he had as a rookie. A few year ago I saw him being interviewed and the man was sharp as a tack, memory like a steel trap. One interview I enjoyed was Willie Mays putting Brian Kenney in his place after the '12 World Series. An interview with any of those players would be awesome.
Kenney stuck his foot in his mouth with his opening statement, "Well Willie, What do you think of San Francisco winning the World Series. Willie came right back and stated hey I played on a couple of Giants World Series Teams myself. Kenney got a bit more humble after that. When one interviews a Willie Mays the idea of utmost respect should be foremost in one mind.
Tell you how bad stuff has gotten. Heard the Sports Show Announcer on Tampa Bay News Nine sizing up the Rays Al East opponents and talking shit that the Yankees are no longer feared. I am as all Yankee Fans should be deeply ashamed of the current regime and how they have failed. This is the New York God Dam Yankees, supposed to be the duty badass now left for dead by ownership that does not care and a GM who should have been fired years ago. God damn pathetic that when I run across fellow Yankee Fans the major point of conversation is how poor this season will be in comparison to last. Looks like Old Pal Hal and his brother Hankenstein are going to let this team rot like CBS did between '65 to '73. Just a total crock of shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
