Take a look at the Isles. They have 90 points with 11 games left. That means their max points are 112. We currently have 93 points. We have 15 games left. That means our max points are 123. If we get 19 out of our last 30 possible points we end with 112 points, which ties the Isles max points, and wins us the division.

That would be us getting 63% of our available remaining points. So far this season we have gotten over 69% of our possible points available.

You do the math Al...LOL. I know you are a numbers guy, and the numbers don't lie here. The Isles would have to go nuts AND we'd really have to struggle for us not to finish ahead of them. That's the reality of the numbers Al.

The Pens are "closer", but again the math is really in our favor.

If we don't win the division I would be surprised now. But if we don't finish worst case 2nd I would be flat out shocked as I said this AM.

Yes but you still can't count out any team, let's not jinx this.

MSL is a forward, he should have been getting chances and a assists when he arrived. Yandle plays defense, and he's been playing pretty well, so get off it. He's been here for 5 games, learning a new system with different teammates, it takes time. Eventually, he will contribute offensively. But you know what? If he's not scoring, and the Rangers are winning, I'll take it.

How many times to buffoons here have to be told that it takes about 20 games to get AV's system down. The defense has been much better ever since Yandle joined the team. The biggest reason the PP stinks is because Stepan has his head up his ass at the moment. His recent slump is lowering his contract each day. Right now, Brassard looks like the much better center. The risky Brassard contract has payed off until this point.

To be honest, don't be surprised if Sather thinks going forward that Brassard is his number 1 and Hayes will be his number 2. If Stepan wants a ton of money, he might trade him. He's bad on faceoff's and if he wants 6+ million, he might explore offers. He's a righty which our team needs but Stepan could bring back a mother load from a team who needs a two way center. I never thought about them dealing Stepan but when you look at Hayes developing, it's not unthinkable now.

Since Yandle was brought on board, the team has allowed 5 goals in 6 games and one was in OT on the PP.

The PP stinks because they have people who refuse to shoot. Get the puck to the net and good things can happen.

Don't know what is worse. Watching Glass being put out there by our coach game after game or reading through the hundreds of loser Rangers fans on HF with all their pathetic nicknames for Rangers players. It's amazing those tools can't watch a Rangers game without commenting on it in a thread the entire f'n game.

Sheppard needs to be in for Glass. Bottom line is AV has this love for Glass and has since day one. He clearly thinks he adds this element of toughness and fight. So we play the clearly worse player, Glass, over Sheppard.

Good post Jam, Yandle has looked excellent in the defensive zone and seems to be picking up the breakout scheme faster than any of our own dmen did. His poise with the puck and vision is second to none, and that's the most important thing for a defenseman. His offense will come as he gets more comfortable in this system.

I don't mention Glass anymore though because it is what it is.

As for Yandle, I agree jam and Prod. A dman needs to learn the system and the breakouts and the coverages. There is a lot to it. Especially for a guy like Yandle who played 23 mpg and now is playing 19 or so. And he is clearly being asked to play more defensive than he did in Zona. Big adjustment for him, and he is doing fine with it AND most importantly we are winning.

He has 20 games prior to the playoffs to get comfortable here, and he'll need most if not all of them. That is a good bonus for us that he had 20 games to get used to our style.

Our D has been great since he has been here, no coincidence.

The one thing I will add is he does need to shoot more. He has passed on some good chances. As he gets comfortable and shoots the puck more, like last night, he'll be real good.

And BTW...MSL struggled big time to score when he got here. Again, players need time to adjust. That's reality.

Yandle has been great defensively and has been a top scoring defender for the last 5 years, still think acquiring him was one of the best trades any team made at the deadline. It's nice to see the Rangers have such a young talent available in Skapski to back up Hank should Cam go elsewhere. I think the only way Sheppard gets more playing time is if he takes off the skirt and takes the body more than once in 2 games as any 4th liner with size would be expected. As Chuck mentioned many posts hit last night, could have been a laugher but great teams win the games they're supposed to and that's what the Rangers keep doing. They have a good chance of breaking the team points record of 112 from '93-'94. Great times to be a Rangers fan.

So right Jam. Winning is the name of the game.
Yeah PP sucks but they are winning. Stepan is
in a slump but the team is winning. Please give
Yandle a break......this guy is very talented and
will prove it. I love that lesser known players are
contributing. It is a good sign.
