... trying his damnedest to make me eat my words by playing his way onto the roster...SOB.

...I'm a life long Yanx fan and I generally root for the pinstriped laundry unconditionally...but there is NO way I will ever pull ARod...NO way.

Since it's obvious he's going to be here unless he gets injured I'm not going to root against him. I just can't be a Yankee fan hoping a guy in the uniform does poorly. I want the team to win and if he helps then do be it.

If he's on the team, doesn't create any friction or problems with the players and staff,
I hope he hits 40 HRs with 120 RBI.
lol.....Don't worry, I'm not betting on it.

    Go Yanks!

Saw an article this am titled the 15 biggest Yankee Busts. Give you three guesses first two don't count as to who number 1 was. Big boy was on a 1-16 skid when he hit that bomb today probably had enough fuel left in his tank to do so. I am one embarrassed Yankee Fan to think he'll be suiting up and going North.

I really just don't want to see him get those bonus's. Rewarding this POS anything should be a crime.

...from what I've read, the Yanx have no intention of paying those bonuses.

I like most here, worship the Pinstripes, but with this jerk #13, I just can't bring myself to hope he even gets a hit, even if it helps the Yanx cause or to win a game. I'd rather see anyone other than Drew take his DH spot, hell bring in the batboy, I can cheer for that much, but Alex is like a shit sandwich.......!

To me, A-Roid has more than ruined several good years, with his B.S. approach, lying, cheating, perjures bastage, who had to be the 1st player to ever try to sue the MLBPA. That decision, tho' not followed thru, had no conscience of its own, other than greed, or to plug a gapping wound left by Alex.

If we're in the 9th inning of a close game & he comes up with men on & 2 outs I'm not going to root against him because that would be really rooting against the team, and that's something I would never do. But I've got to agree with Ron & Rob here, its just to hard to wish for this POS to do well. I mean someone like Pete Rose is in his 26th year of a lifetime suspension & this phony asshole is still allowed to play the game. WTF is wrong with that picture?

Matts, Rick, I want ARod to fail, period. And I'll hope for him to fail at every opportunity, which is why this year is going to be hard for me to channel my emotions as a fan. And I don't want to hear that I should cut him some slack because he's served his suspension when I believe he got off way too easy and should be completely banned from Baseball or in jail, or better yet, both. In my own mind, he simply does not deserve my acknowledgment as being part of this team. And in this case, my principles of right and wrong will not be compromised for the sake of my "fandom".

...as far as Rose, he accepted a lifetime ban as part of his punishment. And IMO, that ban should not be lifted during his "lifetime" just because he had more hits than anyone. The evidence that nailed him was overwhelming, same for ARod. But both tried the "deny, deny, deny" approach until the very end and both them only showed any signs of remorse when it was too late.

...meanwhile, nearly 100 years later, Joe Jackson's ban remains even though there was no evidence that he ever received any money and/or that he played any part in the throwing of the World Series. and therefore, no reason to warrant such a ban. So for me, as long as "Shoeless Joe" is still wrongfully shut out, pretending that all should be forgiven with respects to ARod and Rose is not an option.

I hope not but I feel like I'm going to be annoyed about plenty of other stuff this season.

Ron I feel the same way about Shoeless Joe, I mean even the others who were banned said that Jackson never took the money. So if the ban on Rose is lifted & I've got a feeling it will be, then Shoeless Joe Jackson's should be lifted also. Long overdue IMO.

Fortunately I'm gonna miss the rest of ST while on a business trip. Wont have to see ARoid make the final cut. Next game I watch will be game 1 of 162. As long as he DHs, I'll only have to see his sorry ass 4 or 5 times per game.

I totally agree with your take, and everything you posted; on this issue. I was on the fence for awhile about Rose (not that long ago), yet you of all posters and baseball buddies, literally "opened my eyes" with an old comment on Rose's Discretion's, and yes He too can burn at a stake, and never be spoken of in considerations of HOF membership. Perhaps not even 50 years***, after his passing. Even then, Rose has shown NO real atonement or even tried to publicly say he made a huge mistake, no resentment for his crimes.

As for Shoeless Joe, Yep, I'd let him in a heartbeat. From all I've read about the Black Sox Scandal, tho' Joe was approached, their was/is no proof he took a dime of the money offered him, on the contrary, there is proof he did not take a dime of the money. While out performing every player during that Series, with his offense and defensive stats. Joe may of known about the scam, yet he remained NO part of it. I can't blame Joe either for not going public with the scam, as during that time, Le Cosa Nostra was alive and well, and struck real fear in men, who went against their scams.

*** Shit, its been approximately 95 years since Joe was fkd over.

I'd say, my own beliefs align with yours, hope I didn't say something, otherwise, (I'll have to go back and look at my threads), shit half the time, I'm on these boards late at night, I might as well be entertaining Zappa's Zombie Woof...!
