Should CJ be starting?

It seems like Aaron would help create some offense off of the bench, and CJ has more familiarity and chemistry with the regulars than he has, and with the way he has been playing he might be a better option at SG right now? It might be good to prep him for next season too since Wes will probably still be rehabbing.

CJ played great last night and has played well overall since Wes was hurt. His defense isn't what Afflalo brings, so I'd say that he shouldn't be in the starting unit because of that.

    Think about it realistically...
Having a starting line up of..
    Lillard, CJ, Batum, Aldridge, Rolo.

Who do you want the ball in the hands of? for that starting unit.
Do people really want the ball out of the hands of Aldridge/Lillard? Because featuring CJ in the starting unit would do that.
People have already complained about ball movement on these forums... What part in CJ's game helps with BALL movement?
Where he ISO's, then dribbles 5-6 times only to shoot a contested jumper?(make or miss)
    Or
Where he ISO's, then dribbles and goes to the rim?
Lots of ball movement in 1 on 1 ISO plays.

Now there are times when CJ is better within the offense than Afflalo..
Due to Afflalo's tendency to pass it back to Lillard late in the shot clock.
(Especially when the play is designed to for Afflalo to end up with the ball and a shot)
Where as Wes wouldn't pass it back to Lillard.. He'd go to the stepback, regardless of defense.

Bottom line is putting CJ in the starting unit would take the ball out of the hands of both All-Stars on the team.
Certain games that helps. But other games it would hinder.
I'd rather CJ come off the bench, and play as needed.

I do however love it when CJ makes quick, decisive moves. It not only speeds up the offense and allows the bigs to get in position for a rebound.. But it doesn't allow rotational/help defense.

Afflalo is bigger and a better defender. He is more like Wes than CJ and he's a vet. We need a 6 man with Kaman out and CJ is that guy.

This. We need Arron's defense on the starting unit and CJ will get more scoring opportunities and have better success off the bench. I think both have kind of a sixth man SG style of play, CJ even more so.

No, not a starter, but we need Stotts to commit to CJ in the same way he committed to Mo. CJ has the talent, but has not been given the support to develop the confidence. It's time, as he is key to the playoff run.

I kinda agree with this. I think in aggregate CJ + Dame is better than Afflalo + Dame.

And Blake can feed Afflalo on the post better than Dame can.

Thinking strictly of offense here, but I can get along with CJ starting and Arron finishing. We have a lot of options even with all the injuries. Terry just needs to find the right matchups.

I think it's a good idea because CJ seems to be a better spot up shooter. The bench might be better with a guy who likes to go one on one as Arron does.
