Great. An owner who doesn't care about the Yankee fans talking to a man who has ill feelings toward all fans. Two phonies laughing at all of us.
The best "we" can do as fans if you listen to the interview is try to remember what he said concerning the important things, let these next 1-3 years play out - then use the old memory to decide just how "stupid" he is, and/or whether or not he's full of sh!t, lol. I won't be listening, hopefully someone will fill us in if he said anything interesting.
...I don't need to wait to decide how stupid he is. This is about the 3rd time he's flip flopped on how to construct this team. He's got plenty of his Father's money to fall back on so why should he give a rip?... but we as fans, are forced to live off of scraps in the meantime.
Do you (I'm being serious lol) really think he isn't concerned and doesn't realize what happens if the team eventually becomes just another ho-hum team? Of course I don't expect him to be like The Boss but he HAS TO KNOW he's going to be stuck with a big turkey if this team continues the next couple yrs without a good run in October? Maybe they ARE planning on selling?
...personally, I don't think Hal knows wtf he's doing because he obviously does not have a firm business plan in place. Again, I say this because of his "flip flopping" I referred to earlier. ...selling definitely a possibility even though he denied it awhile back. And selling would probably be best for us as fans provided the new owner/s are passionate about the game. But on the other hand, of it's someone who's primary concern is turning a profit it would be counter productive to making the Yanx great again...I know Rupert Murdock bought a chunk of the YES network a few years ago and I hope it was not a precursor to him buying the Yanx. ...I'd love to see Jeter and and ownership group take over the Yanx and who knows, it may ultimately happen. I've also said before that someone who is really has a "passion" for sports like Mark Cuban would be a great owner even though MLB has already shut him out before.
Only one regular in lineup. Ramirez, Martin and Burawa were the P culprits, I don't think the coaching staff is going to lose any sleep. Looks like there was more positive things than negative in this ST game. Refsnyder and Heathcott (and Jake Cave) continue to hit well, both over .320. Warren 3.2 IP, 1ER, 2.70 ERA Gregorius two hits. As ST games go, this was a pretty good one!
What I'd give to see Mark Cuban as a MLB Owner. The Young Maverick from Texas, would bring to the table, what many Owner's are afraid to talk about, along with several other ideas, I'm sure Mark has up his sleeve. With Jeter a Minority Owner, "Face of the Franchise".....that works for me, I'd take it in a NY minute....! To Hell with the Steinz Kids, they learned nada, since George died...... Oh wait, but wasn't it Hal who came to the Yanx defense as no other Owner in the History of MLB ??? Yeah Right, the self appointed anal-yst says so.......we all know who that is......and it isn't you 59, quit on the contrary..... the one in every crowd:
Interesting read, I wonder if Hal really knows just "How not like His Father" he isn't???? Hal in this article sounds like a person with low self esteem, due to his track record. I saw this article more as a whining child would to anyone who would listen. News Flash to Hal: You sure the fk aren't your Dad, he was a King, and yer a rich boy pauper, who learned obviously nothing from Dad, like how to re-build a Minor Lg system full of top Prospects, without selling off Free Agents or acquiring them, in trade of said prospects. He can have it both ways, if both Hal and Brian, ever have a brain storm, without electrocuting themselves...!
Thanks. Good. I've had this feeling the Steinbrenners have been thinking about selling and I immediately think about those bad old days when CBS owned them. If they do ever sell the team, I would also prefer a firebrand passionate individual. We DID get a couple of statements from Hal which will go a long way (for me) in determining how stupid and "full of sh!t" he may or may not be. He said it's a family business and "we're not going anywhere". We'll see. He said he is passionate but hides it.....and to be fair, how many owners are out there with a lot of bluster making many colorful statements? Then he mentioned the young players again and the Yanks did say before ST they weren't and didn't sign any big time free agents/pitchers. Hal proved he was willing to spend with last year's three big signings and I can't blame them for laying off giving huge long term contracts to pitchers during this past off season after Tanaka's injury. imo, They would have to be crazy. I know I sound naive but, imo, we're going to have to watch and see what happens after these next 2 years when the Yanks dump a lot of salary AND some of these young farmhands SHOULD be ready to step in. I think Hal really wants to, and will go with young players to compliment the remaining established players.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaa. whaaaaaaaaaa.. Hal took my toy away....whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Those meanies......whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
...Hal says a lot of things...then he takes them back...only to say the very same things once again. So there's absolutely no reason to believe him when he says the team "is not for sale". ...and as far as him being "passionate"...how often does he actually go to the games? ...this franchise seems to have no direction and Hal has no compass.
Your right, no foresight going ahead. No idea really how to put a winning org. or simply the MLB Team, lelt alone the Crown Jewel of MLB Bastions and Legacies. Lost Hal is obviously. I don't think Hal or Brian have any plan going forth, let alone day to day. Who's doing what, who's trade worthy, what would Dad do???? Your right, the Yanx Clipper Ship, takes Men of Legend and Greatness in delivering, a better game going forth. Hal's bow and mast lights aren't working, Hals compass broken, in rough seas. At this pace, they will sink or stink (Freudian slip?), what has always been the greatest Sports Brand in Human History of any Pro or Olympus Levels...... Hal should be sending the stress signals out as time eludes Him, and Dad's Legacy was/is too big to live up too...... Besides: Everything Has Their Price.......?
Oh hal has a big compass.....he just happens to be standing on a giant magnet every time he tries to get his bearings.
Its a real shame what they're doing or should I say NOT doing to this once storied franchise that there father loved so much.
