You've seen lots of good stuff. Cool. Avenue Q is awesome, hated Cats the first time but appreciated it's suckiness later, hated Rent the first time but LOVED it later, Cabaret is a great show but I didn't like the revival, Spring Awakening is weird but executed well (I actually played one of the leads in one of the workshops when it was being developed), and I love Annie.

I saw Cabaret when it was at Portland Center Stage with Storm Large... it was phenomonal.

Saw the Seattle run of Young Frankenstein with Megan Mullally (Karen from Will and Grace) and that was great.

Rent is my go to, seen it way too many times.

I have -read- and -listened- to Avenue Q, but haven't seen it, which sounds weird. Still needs to see Cats. Spring Awakening hahaha. That's a trip,

I love musicals. I hate that stereotype, and any stereotype really.

I'll stop before completely ascending my soap box.

The only answer I know is The Book Of Mormon is a musical because it's done by the South Park guys.

Same. I am not a big musical/play guy.

I only like two... Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny and The South Park movie.

The South Park movie is one of my top 10 favorite movies of all time. I saw it 8 times in the theater.

4 - I think the Book of Mormon won, and I'm not sure it was Broadway this century but I think Jersey Boys.
9 - I think west side story, but I'm not sure.
10 - I've seen Oklahoma which was Rodgers and Hammerstein. It was my least favorite production so far, but still enjoyed myself.
11 - the Book of Mormon

I had no idea about the lottery, I'll try that sometime. I have an Uncle who lives in Manhattan who I used to visit as a child but haven't been to NY in over a decade now. At some point I'd love to go back and take in a show. If I do, I'll certainly contact you, maybe for that deal, absolutely for a drink. Thanks for that generous offer.

EDIT: I answered without looking at the answers above.

The one time I was out of my country, I went to NY where my aunt lives, been there 2 weeks, went to a terrible Knicks-Jazz game (Stockton and Malone. Spreewell in street clothes), to a Conan O'brien Show and to a Broadway musical - Rent.
I wasn't too crazy about it. It's a bit of a strange way to do theater, as a musical. But 12 years later, I think I remember it fondly/ It was something about young people struggling with Urban life, I think. It was cool.

    I think I knew 5, 8 and 10.

Edit: And though I've never seen Phantom, that was the first CD pack (of 2) that I ever owned, and I wore the hell out of it. And I only knew Kristen Chenoweth b/c she was the model of the Harriet Hayes character on Studio 60 and my wife pointed her out on an episode of "Say Yes to the Dress" recently.

Christin Chenoweth was on The West Wing. It was a frequent joke with her (really short) next to Allison Janney (8 feet tall).

Very good. Sondheim only wrote the lyrics to West Side Story but that counts. Jersey Boys did win Best Musical in this century. And yes, we'll hang out if you come here.
