Nash followed the recent monster 20 assist game with a 42 point game and then averaged about a dozen assists for the next couple games, hard not to vote for the guy. If he finishes the season with over 11 assists a game there's no way Kobe will be in the race as the NBA would be viewed as an organization rewarding selfish people (politically incorrect and not good for business) if it gave him the MVP. 3 assists a game is hard to do with his minutes. It's really a two horse race. Lebron James has the points, a respectable assists total, can rebound and the team has a good record. I think the final season record of both teams will play a big role in determining who wins MVP. Who stays healthy may also play a role as Nash has a bad back and Lebron plays physical. Hard to earn MVP when you're on the bench. They both deserve it.
Give me Lebron James. Surround him with Amare Stoudemire and Shawn Marion and watch the magic happen.
1-Lebron plays in the east and is still struggling2-To win MVP your team has to do well, and the suns will do well3-Lebron should dominate the east to win MVP. Instead he is losing to the Knicks, Raps, Bobcats...4-Nash is doing his work in the west. 5-Amare is back. Steve Nash is the leader of the team. He took Amare aside and yelled at him. -Amare - 30 pts, 8 RBs, 3 blocks, blowout win vs Howard - 4 pts, 3 RBs, 5 TO's, fouled out -Averaging 21 and 11 since starting, and won all 11 games. -Howard is a defensive beast, and his team is one of the best defensively. 6-Nash is playing better than last year2004-2005: 15.5 PPG, 11.5 APG, 3.3 RPG, MVP2005-2006: 18.8 PPG, 10.5 APG, 4.2 RPG, MVP2006-2007: 20.3 PPG, 11.8 APG, 3.0 RPGSteve Nash is averaging more points, and more assists this year then any in the past and I really think he has a very good chance at winning it all again. His rebounds are down but with Amare back that should happen and his team is flat out just killing teams right now. At this point in the season if he doesn't win it he'll be the one that was "robbed".7-Look at my username. LBJ.
I do believe Nash would make the Cavs better as a team all-around.... No question. Between these two, I think Nash should win his 3rd MVP in a row... But realistically, and overall I believe no one other than Kobe should win the MVP this year, the man deserves it.
Nash couldnt do sh*t with the Cavs...Hughes, S Brown and maybe Gooden would only benefit. Lebron with the suns though would be nuts.
So what you guys are saying if Nash is better then LeBron...Lol, Nash wont help the Cavs. Hughes and James are fine. James just needs to find his game, hope he finds it soon. Hughes at 100% is a good players. Season is very young.

If I see one more "who should be the MVP" thread before the All-Star break I might stab someone. That being said, I'd take LeBron. Like somoene said, surround him with Nash's talent and see how he does.

Having LeBron would just have too many players wanting to score and egos will get in the way of accomplishing anything. This year I think Nash so far has shown he deserves it, BUT, since I don't think he deserved in last year more than any of the other 3 candidates I'd give it to LeBron right now. Kobe will be in this discussion later, but his numbers are really down this year. I know he said he'd shoot less and pass more but with how much better his team has been he has only improved his assists numbers by 0.1 and averaging like 10 less points a game. His team has also done great without him. He will definitely be a top 2 candidate for the award by the end of the year I think but right now I'm giving it to LeBron.
NASH will not win it again this year!!!!!!! Kobe is not selfish, he is scoring less and even the fact that his assists are down is a poor indication of how he is going. He should be in with a real chance with the Lakers winning.Lebron will always be in with a shot.If forced to choose Nash or LBJ - LBJ by a mile (not because Nash is sh*t or anything,he's great, he just wont get 3 in a row)
If I had a choice I woudl take Nash. As an individual player James has the upper hand, he is just tremendously gifted. But as a playmaker and a leader I would take Nas. He is a great player, who takes his teammates up to another level. In addition, he is a consisntant player who can shoot the basketball.
Even if LeBron would blow out his knee and not play for the rest of the season, they would still give him the MVP.But I want Nash to win...
Lebron will win the MVP award. Lebron is just clearly a better player than Steve Nash. Steve Nash won't win it 3 times straight, no matter what kind of season he has.

One of the main reasons that Nash is doing so well is because he has so many options to go to. Lebron is a still a very good passer, but he scores more, rebounds more, and actually plays better defense (just because Nash is so bad). Nash averages so many assists because he plays in a very fast paced offense with alot of athletic and talented players that get in the open floor and run. I bet he gets at least 40 percent of his assits off of alleyoops or fast break points.

Okay, first of all, the Cavaliers are a terrible shooting team, and Nash loves setting up guys for threes. Second of all, the Cavs are not high paced, and Steve Nash is only the best pg in the league under a running offense..Who would score the ball? With a top scorer in Lebron, the Cavs still arent a very high powered offense. Lebron makes Cleveland alot better than Nash.
