T-Mac out indefinitely with bad backHOUSTON -- Rockets star Tracy McGrady is out indefinitely with back spasms and was scratched from Tuesday night's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. The 6-foot-8 forward missed 35 games last season with back problems, and coach Jeff Van Gundy said Tuesday he did not know how long McGrady will be sidelined this time.Luther Head will make his first start of the season in McGrady's place, Van Gundy said. Head is averaging 9.8 points and is Houston's most accurate 3-point shooter (50.5 percent).McGrady, a six-time All-Star, hurt his back midway through the fourth quarter of Saturday's game against Washington. He scored 28 points before leaving the court and limping to the locker room.Read Rest HereSucks for Houston, Yao will have to play hard.

Hopefully this is only for one of two games and hopefully it doesn't impact McGradys play. But being realistic, I must say that this is very dissapointing, Tmac was finally strting to play well again and then this. Yao better step up, cause I still have doubts of wheter Yao can carry the team for a full game

Wow, this is a killer for the Rockets.. however, Yao has been playing great ball, lately, so maybe he can keep the Rockets in playoff contention. :Swoon:

Hate to see that happen to such a gifted player, sh*t, I'd hate to see that happen to any player. I'm sure Rocket fans aren't wanting to have a repeat of last year.

T-Mac retiring in 3 years like he said, is looking more and more like a greater possibility. His body is breaking down and these back problems simply aren't going away. Really sucks to see this happen to such a great player. :no1:

this is sad man. tracy mcgrady and yao ming, full strength, and played atleast 70+ games could have made a lot of noise in the playoffs. possibly a championship, or 2? they were gonna be the next kobe and shaq......or better? :g:

Deja vu all over again. As long as T-mac can bounce back to like 80% we can make noise in the playoffs. Hopefully Bonzi can pick some slack if t-mac misses multiple games

Id give Tmac time to recover, so that he doesn't have to leave a game again

It really is a shame but I can't say I didn't see this coming. It's pretty obvious to me that T-Mac's back problems are chronic and not something that can just go away in a couple of months. Hopefully hes comes back well though, it would sure suck for the Rockets if they have to go threw last year all over again especially now that they have a team better then ever.

The Rockets were a championship contender...Now it looks like we might be repeating last year's lottery squad.

The worst thing is that it was nothing, really. He just jumped up, and when he came down, he stayed down. There was no Bruce Bowen ankle in the way, or a Dikembe Mutombo elbow. If it happens on such an ordinary play, does that mean he'll be at risk all the time?
