A Ranger win tonight and Islanders loss would eliminate them from the Metro division. Would like to see the division taken care of by the weekend. First overall is still up in the air since the Rangers trail Anaheim by four points but have three games in hand.

A Ranger win clinches the Met period...not just elminates the Isles.

Win and we have home ice in rounds 1 & 2 at least.

The Boston/Detroit game will be very interesting for us. If Detroit wins it is done for Boston to pass them. And maybe the Sens can still sneak into 8th place (especially if they beat TB tonight). But if Boston wins you'd have to give them a shot to pass Detroit for 3rd in the Atlantic.

I think we simply want a regulation win for one team.

Whatever happens.................happens. Just pulling for Ranger victory
against TSN's top ranked team.....The Minnesota Wild. Next week
it probably will be another team. Curiously, in their rankings Rangers
are 2nd. For me, all these rankings by everybody and his uncle...........
are meaningless. Just something to fill a blank page and spur fans
of their teams. :medusa: Personally, I hate NHL rankings. :hater:

Of course they are meaningless. Need to talk about something.

It will be what it will be.

Byfuglien gets 4 games which may cost the Jets a playoff spot. A win tonight also knocks Pitt out of division contention after the Flyers played spoiler and beat them last night.

Good start but what was the point of acquiring Sheppard? AV's love affair with Glass is just mind boggling. I bet this tool will be playing in the playoffs.

And Yandle better start getting a clue on PP. Arniel needs to be let go after this season. He has sucked at his job here long enough.

Metro Division Champs. Also, in the drivers seat for first in the conference. We shall see what happens with the Presidents Trophy.

    This thread is hilarious...LOL.

Not too concerned about the Pres trophy or even 1st in the East (down to us and the Habs for # 1 with edge to us right now...I wanted to finish ahead of TB and that seems like a lock now). Home ice locked in for rounds 1 & 2 at least.

I am more focused on which team we'll play. So wide open. Wings, Bruins, Isles, Caps, Pens...who knows which team we'll play. Could be any of those teams now that the Bruins beat the Wings tonight.

Awesome stuff from this team. And the King is back on his game.

Great season but it's all about the playoffs for this club.

Right Mess, I think we can all agree it is CUP or disappointment this year. There isn't a team the Rangers can't beat in a 7 game series IMO

They beat the hottest team in the NHL other than the Rangers, on the road, and tools are complaining. Pitt is floundering. Don't rule out a first round matchup with them. I like that better than Boston.

    I stick to my ranking:

    1. Pens
    2. Wings
    3. Bruins

    4. Isles
    5. Caps

OV is out of this world right now. Rather not play the Caps round 1. Think we'd beat them, but that would be a tough dangerous series.

If the Isles weren't the Isles, meaning they wouldn't play that series like the SB of all-time since they do that against us, I would want to play them more. But due to the rivalry I prefer other teams round 1.

the biggest complains were about the PP which was embarrassing except for the first one where Nash managed to sneak one in from the bad angle. PP goals help a lot in the playoffs since the games are so tight. The only reason why the caps are relevant this year is their PP.

Oh come on Step, you are the most negative fan I have ever seen even by Ranger fan standards. You say almost nothing positive in any game thread. It's all good and totally your right to say whatever you want, but don't deny that's the case.

This is the best team in the league point % wise, and worst case going to finsih top 2 in the East and top 3 or 4 overall in the NHL, and you don't have much positive to say. Be happy for a little while bro.

9 days left...going to be really interesting to see which team we play round 1. Like I said above, I do not want to play the Caps in round 1. That is the team I'd least like to play by far right now.

My favorite stat right now is the goal differential. We're well in first with a +53, second place is TB back at +45. Only three teams in total even in the 40s: CHI, STL and TB. Everyone else +30 or less (in some cases much less, like Buffalo at a cool -105). But LORD ALMIGHTY DOES THIS TEAM SUCK :smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry::smiley-cry:
