It's either a huge block, getting dunked on, getting crossed over, or getting a tough shot made in your face...all those things and probably more could have a big affect on the game - at least with humiliating the other player, and probably giving momentum to your team.I think getting a huge block is probably the most humiliating out of all those. It gets momentum on your side, it totally humbles the other player, and it tells the other team that you are physical in the lane so they will be cautious the next time they decide to try. I love swatting shots - def pumps me up, the whole team, and occaisonally the crowd that's watching.
As much as a tough block gets your team pumped up, my team always got pumped up the most off of a strong power dunk. When one of our players went up and hit a huge dunk, it sent the crowd off, our bench off, and pumped us up everytime.
Our coach used to have stats of how much better we played after somebody on my team threw down a dunk, I will see if I can bring them up somewhere. It has to be a dunk, There is nothing like it.
I think a fast break dunk is the most demoralizing thing. It's pretty bad when you get beat down the court and a power dunk on you. It's also pretty bad when you make a good play though, then they beat you down the court and get it right back. So I'd say it's either fast break points, dunks, or a combo of the two.
A combination of all of them.A blocked shot, resulting in a turnover. The other team gets the ball, crosses you, then dunks on one of your team mates off the fast break.
Since no one on my team can dunk yet, it is a fast break point. I stole the ball and flew down the court, jumped over the other team's point guard for the layup. It was awesome.
Our team's first dunk... he's 6'4".Also the classic cross-fall-on-ass. Wish I had some replays on that.
If I'd get crossed over and fall that would be way more embarrassing than anything else, especially if the guy gets an easy basket.
Rejecting them hard. Mainly when you embarrass the other team or player the crowd goes wild and then you give em like a stare it pisses the other team off
it really doesn't change anything for me when I get blocked. yeah, the crowd "oohs", but we get the ball back. If it's like a pin on the glass, or if it is swatted to a teammate, then I can understand it changing the momentum, but if I get blocked and it goes out of bounds, it doesn't bother me at all. Next time I'll just throw up a shot fake and get to the line.
stick to the fundamentals. something everyone can do. jab step--> step-back --> crossover drive. works everytime.
