Without watching the rest of this game, why did CJ's scoring slow down?

Brooklyn changed its defensive strategy in the second quarter, causing chaos. All scoring of any kind ground to a near halt until Meyers started taking over.

Pre-season, but never a regular season game.

By the way, if you had 2014-2015 as the season anyone would unironically say "Meyers started taking over", you win the betting pool.

Yeah a tiny glimmer of the Red Ass...

By the way, someone needs to have a camera pointed at Tim Frazier on the bench all the time; guy has a very expressive face. The look he gave Meyers when he was saying he'd been fouled and hurt his wrist was pretty funny in a "I can't believe this white boy is serious" sort of way.

He missed some shots so we went to Dame who scored 25 second half points hitting four straight threes at one point and Leonard who had 13 or 15 second half points. We almost pulled it off, cutting a 22 point deficit to 6 before Brooklyn pushed back.

I personally believe CJ was slowed due to a few defensive adjustments the Nets made.
Just like vs the Pelicans the game before. Teams are trying to force him to over-dribble into multiple defenders.
If he continues to force defenses to adjust their scheme vs the Blazers it's going to make stopping Aldridge/Lillard that much more difficult.
Right now if I were Stotts.. It'd be hard to keep CJ off the floor.

This seriously looks like first round and out team.

    Afflalo has been disappointing.

I liked his assertiveness and aggressiveness, especially when he called for the ball on the low block. He had a 5" height advantage on Young. Nice to see him recognize that and use it to his advantage.

I honestly and truly hope that is the way that it works out because if it doesnt then that was one hell of a gamble. Because I sure as hell like the 'may' in "we may have won that game with those three guys"

The team we put out on the court last night didn't even look like a playoff team, but add Aldridge, Batum and Kaman and things change a LOT. With these three, not only do we win last night, but we win easily.

Did we also look like a first round and out team last year? Because, in spite of all the injuries this year, we're probably going to win 54 games again and enter the playoffs without HCA - just like last year.

Losing Wes hurts, and Afflalo is no Wes, but we're better off with Afflalo than without him. The addition of Kaman, and the growth of Meyers and C.J. makes our bench much better than last year. We lost Good Mo's scoring, but don't miss Bad Mo's turnovers and poor shot selection. Blake scores less, but does a better job getting the second unit guys involved in the offense - now that we have second unit guys who actually DESERVE to be involved in the offense.

Whoever we play in the first round is going to be a tough opponent, but on the flip side, if we play our best, we have the ability to beat anyone in a 7 game series.

Well said, BNM. That's exactly how I feel going into the playoffs.

I can't imagine any of the teams are sitting at home thinking 'gosh, I sure do hope we get the Blazers in the first round' after what LA did to Houston last year.

I kind of want to beat the Rockets in the second round again.
