Partner Ai with an unselfish big man and you get wins. I still think he should've went to the wolves. KG and iverson would've been the best duo in the nba,

He has straightened up considerably since coming into the league, and has grown up a lot.</div>That's what I was talking about, he's never been a cancer that disrupts the locker room. I was referring to him being a cancer as in taking away from his teammates with the way he plays. I don't think it's done intentionally...
When you shoot as much as AI your teammates aren't going to get as many shots. Denver's problem was not offense before AI came here. It was their DEFENSE. AI is not the answer for this problem. I think on a defensive oriented team AI can be successful like the Sixers were in 2001.

Look at him, look at his resume, look at what he can do. He should be getting those shots, he's one of the best guards to EVER play the game. Kobe takes a lot of shots and dominates the basketball, is he a cancer? Gilbert Arenas? Are these guys cancers too?EDIT: I think Tim Legler basically summed it up nicely after the trade: "These young guys and these Nuggets players need to adjust to HIM, moreso than he has to adjust to them. Allen Iverson is one of the best player of all-time, when you bring in a guy like that, you adjust to him just as much as he has to adjust to the team, if not more."
When teams start losing. Superstars get all the blame. It is the team that is losing. Not just 1 or 2 players. As a whole they have not been playing well. Carmelo Anthony: George Karl is right about him. He needs to start playing more like Tmac. Tmac was once a scorer who played lazy defense. Melo is the same way, but does not pass the ball as much as he should in a run and gun style offense. He needs to start doing what is best for the team. And that is passing.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Over the years he has had Tim Thomas, Chris Webber, Keith Van Horn, Larry Hughes, Glenn Robinson, Derrick Coleman. All those guys are viable second options, however with Iverson it didn't seem to work out.</div>To be quite honest, Denver is the first time he's had a viable 2nd option maybe aside from Chris Webber. But even then Webber was old, not as mobile, he put decent numbers for a year with PHI but I don't think Webber was that great of a 2nd option for him. Tim Thomas has never been a 2nd option, Larry Hughes is a 3rd option scorer, Van Horn isn't a good 2nd option, and he got the fat & old versions of Derrick Coleman and Glenn Robinson. I think that has been a big part of his problem, I think Denver will work out eventually. I'd like to see him have a full season with the Nuggets along side Melo. He had a shaky start with the team. I mean he started playing with them when the team was still under that suspension from the fight in NY. I want to see AI play a full season with the Nugs.

Iverson is an underrated passer, no doubt about that. I thought the trade to Denver would allow him to showcase his passing skills, but unfortunately he's playing for a coach that wants him to play the shooting guard spot and put up 30 points a night instead of putting him at the point and running all day... that's what they SHOULD do.Karl is smart in one way, however. He knows that Iverson can only adjust his game so much at 31 years old. It is REALLY hard for ANY player to adjust their game after having played that way for 11 years. If anybody has to change more, it is Carmelo Anthony, and to his credit he has slowly been doing that. Iverson tried too much to change when he was first traded, and he wasn't nearly as effective in that role.As far as his defense goes, I will say that I am thoroughly impressed with his newfound energy on that side of the floor. He has picked it up considerably on the defensive end... and he, along with Camby, are trying to set the tone for the rest of the team. Once they follow... watch out.

Granted, it was against the Blazers, but I don't care who was on the opposition, AI was an assassin. I also agree to the fullest about AI being an underrated passer. He's actually an outstanding passer. He has great vision and he dishes to cutters perfectly. He's 31 years old, he's still leaving his heart out on the floor every night. The guy just wants to win.He is not a cancer at all. No way.
AI is not a cancer. In Denver the biggest problem sof ar has been with melo. He stalls the offense since his whole game in terms of scoring revolves around isolations on the wing. Without JR Smith, Earl Boykins and Andre Miller, fastbreak points have been few and far between, just like I said it would. That is not a big deal right now, but in playoffs the slowed down style will help other teams exploit Denver's defensive problems on the perimeter.AI has done well with Denver, they just need to make a few tweaks to the lineups and time to mesh and build chemistry/a consistent gameplan.

Denver hasn't been healthy with AI, they traded away what worked for them with Andre Miller, and AI is now the 1st/2nd option on the team. I'd say leading your team to the Finals is success.
I wanted to post this after hearing 76ers 7 game win streak, and the Nuggs not doing so well(but I havent been able to get on lately).I dont think he is, but hes hard to build a team around, as you see Iggy whos a star now barely got 13ppg with him....just difficult to play with.
Yeah cancer is the wrong word. Difficult to play with is the right way to say it. You got to be a player that thrives on less shots and not be a volume shooter. Also you got to defend well. These are the type of players that do well with Iverson.
I can say from all my college schoolings that Iverson is not a malignant growth of cells.
Huh what are you talking about I am confused?
Iverson takes a lot of shots, yes. And he tryed to change you nuts if you have not seen it he shoots not enough now a lot of the times cause of him trying to fit in, and not have people say he can't play with another great player.
Iverson is an underrated passer, no doubt about that. Then you have Melo come abck he has to change more. Then you have injury stuff. And Camby had a injury when Melo+JR were still suspended. AI+Melo only played like 15 games together. ^Yeah...Sure, he is one of the best guards to ever play the game...And as of right now, he is a cancer. Earlier on in his career, he wasnt one, but just look at what he has done as of late. He gets traded to Denver, and all of a sudden the team starts sucking. Ussually, when you add a player as talented as AI, you would expect a team to do better, right? Well guess what! They didnt....Now lets take a nice look over at Philly. They have a winning record since AI left. Thats probably just a big coincidence...right? Yeah, I doubt it. AI gets replaced with a far less talented Andre Miller and the team all of a sudden starts winning as compared to losing how many games straight again? And then lets look at Chris Webber. I feel bad for the guy. From all of the fans, he has been getting critisizm for his play in Philly this year. Well, turns out that he wasnt the problem. Sure he could have played differently, but look at what happenns as soon as he steps foot in a Pistons uniform. He all of a sudden doesn't suck! Maybe thats becasue he isnt playing with Allen Iverson...AKA a cancer! Sorry, I am in a bad mood right now and I wanted to make this paragraph a little bit different.

And they first did not have Melo+JR. Then JR is back AI has to change. Then Melo is back AI has to change again. Camby was hurt during the Melo/JR suspension. Then AI got a injury, and then Blake banged up, Melo banged up a little, Camby hurting. And I am sure AI is not fully 100% yet or even close even though he is playing they need time to gel man. Like I said they need time to gel get it thru your head it take a year for them to really know each other GOOD.OMG they are on a high wake up we suck I am a Sixers fan also.He was the problem in Philly DET is a good D team so his bad D hides very well. Or maybe it's cause he is playing with 3 all stars in Billups, Rip, and Sheed? Hmm
Andre Igoudala is a star caliber player. One of the things that makes him so good is his passing...and you cant argue he gets alotve assists cause hes team is bad...thats just stupid. Hes a star...
