Re: 'Star potential' guys who are more comfortable as 2nd/3rd options. To me, two guys have stood out. Gerald Wallace and Andrei Kirilenko. They are clearly more comfortable being 3rd options on offense, their numbers are down sharply and they really don't seem to mind. With Carlos Boozer playing and Adam Morrison/Emeka Okafor taking shots Gerald Wallace seems to fit in as a good role player...Both these players have the potential to be a lot better on offense but for whatever reason so far don't seem to want to. Gerald Wallace's offense has come a long way since Alabama but Andrei Kirilenko doesn't seem interested in working on his offensive game.
Re: 'Star potential' guys who are more comfortable as 2nd/3rd options. When I read the topic I immediately thought of Lamar Odom. This guy has such great offensive talent. He can shoot the ball, he's got nice touch around the basket..etc..He could be a 20+ ppg guy if he set his mind to it. I notice that sometimes he passes up shots also..He is too unselfish at times..Maybe it's a confidence thing.Richard Jefferson and Corey Maggette are others that I thought of..IDK know BCB. Gerald Wallace doesn't have the scoring game right now to be a potential 1st option..

Re: 'Star potential' guys who are more comfortable as 2nd/3rd options. I don't think I would ever want AK being my first option on scoring, same for Gerald, I just see him more as a second option. I feel first option players should be stars or players who can score lots of points. The best one I can see though is RJ like CB said, he doesn't take that many shots and still puts up good numbers. I can definitely see RJ handling the scoring load, even with Kidd and Vince taking shots away from him he still averaged 19 a game last season.
Re: 'Star potential' guys who are more comfortable as 2nd/3rd options. I like this topic.Guys coming to my head are Ron Artest, Peja Stojakovic to an extent, Jamal Crawford, and Andre Iguodala. With AI2 being the main one.

Re: 'Star potential' guys who are more comfortable as 2nd/3rd options. Players who seem (or seemed) to be comfortable in #2, #3 role...<ul>Andre Igoudala - This guy has skills, but I think AI's presence limited what he was allowed to do.
<ul>Shawn Marion - Plays 3rd fiddle on a very talented team - behind Nash and Stoudemire.
<ul>Manu Ginobili - Sometimes you get the feeling he wants be a star, but overall he's in it for the team (perfect attitude for 3rd fiddle)
Re: 'Star potential' guys who are more comfortable as 2nd/3rd options. One that hasnt been mentioned that I like alot is Tayshaun Prince. I think that if he played for a team where he would get alot of touches, he could put up around 20 a game. He is overshadowed by the even scorers on that team that he isnt able to shine. He is a very versatile player. He can post down the smaller defender, he can take you off of the dribble, he has a good mid range and a pretty good 3 ball, and he can score off of offensive rebounds and fast break points. He can really do it all....
Re: 'Star potential' guys who are more comfortable as 2nd/3rd options. Boris Diaw...I think hes a 3rd option...4th if you put Raja Bell before him...and I hate to bring the Bulls up in most of my posts but..look at the bulls team....I think you will have to put every player there as a 3rd option...Hinrich, Gordon, Deng, Nocioni....
