They say the Spurs are coming together at exactly the right time, that you can't underestimate their hearts of champions, that no one wants to meet them in the first round. Well, I know someone who does...
Our team can rival the Spurs in every aspect, we have better players in every position and we're up for revenge.
The team and the Coach were insulted by the Spurs last year, but we've grown. I'm following this process for the entire year and I feel like we're finally able to put a team on the court that can beat the Spurs, and in order to be the best, you have to beat the best.
The only one thing we need is to understand that. The Spurs aren't better than us in any way. I'm hoping we get them in the first round and continue from there.
    Bring it On!

Um, no. Just no. Just take a trip down memory lane to last post season if you need a refresher as to why you shouldn't want the Spurs. Not saying we can't beat them, but in no way do I wish to have them.

Kawhi could very well be the best overall player in a series with POR. Such misguided thinking

Actually if we are to face the Spurs, the first round would be the best round. They aren't as prepared as they would thereafter. But I will not wish to meet them. They are multiple champions and they've proven they have the best coach and most fundamental team designed to win in the post season.

I don't fear them, but I definitely respect them.

Well you can make an argument that the Blazers are better every spot except the Coach and SF. Batum can be great but Leonard is a roving murder machine.
Ill still take the Spurs in round one, im no longer satisfied with getting out of round one so give me the giant to start out with, the team that will give us the most confidance and inspire the most doubt in the next round opponents if we win.

There's a good chance that if we face the Spurs, we'll have HCA since we own the tiebreaker. Have the Spurs ever won in the first round without HCA? I'm not sure they've ever even played in the first round without HCA.

Dallas almost took them in the first round last season. I think we'll see the Grizz first though

*memories of last year come flying back, smacking those who were saying we'd rather face the Spurs over the Mavs in round 2*

*points @ one of the mods specifically* Cause I know he won't get offended :smiley-bouncy:

Spurs have something a we don't.

A solid bench. If CJ and Meyers can keep it up we might have a chance though.

When I have watched the Spurs of late I see a defensive tenacity that reminds me of last year. They definitely are deeper than us, and where many teams are shortening their bench, Pop does not. I would prefer to miss them. They are on a roll right now.

They also have a very above average SF. Batum plays great in spurts, but he is an average to below average SF most of the time.

Seriously, is there a WC team that can beat the Spurs in a 7-game series when they are in the zone?

Before the Wes injury, when we were clicking, I thought we might be able to rise to that level. I thought nobody could beat us in a series if we kept making good decisions with the ball. We've lost that somewhere and it's that decision-making ability that makes the Spurs great. (and the D!)

If the Spurs are "the best", then, if we advance, we will meet them eventually. Someone has to play the Rockettes, or Dallas. May as well be us playing them as, say, the Spurs playing them.

You're crazy in my book. Right now the Spurs are ripping teams apart with precision and a complete roster that has not been seen for many years. Last night they absolutely destroyed Houston and played starters less than 30 mins. All except Leonard who played 36. Bucking to get the Spurs in the first round would be pure suicide. But if it happens then so be it.
