Or when Kingspeed starts a thread calling him out for his decreased production!

Dude, Batum's Assist to Turnover ratio is better than Lillards, and much closer to Blake's. If you want to whine and moan, tell Lillard to suck it up.

Not whining and moaning biatch. Lillard (and Blake) handle the ball a lot more than Batum and at least their turnovers happen when they are being aggressive, not floating passes apologetically.

But Nic is a better ball handler than our starting point guard. And I can prove it:

    Assist Percentage:

    Dame - AST% 29.2
    Blake - AST% 26.1
    Nic - AST% 20.5

    A/T Ratio:

    Dame - 486 / 209 = 2.32535
    Blake - 275 / 99 = 2.77777
    Nic - 325 / 130 = 2.5000

    Variance:

    Ast% Var -

    Nic vs Dame = 29.2 - 20.5 / 20.5 = 42.4% worse
    Nic vs Blake = 26.1 - 20.5 / 20.5 = 27.3% worse

    A/T Var -

    Nic vs Dame - 2.5 - 2.32535 / 2.32535 = 46.23% better
    Nic vs Blake - 2.7777 - 2.5 / 2.5 = 11.1% worse

    Overall variance in quality:

    Nic vs Dame = 46.23 - 42.4 / 42.4 = 9.0% better
    Nic vs Blake = 11.1 - 27.3 / 27.3 = 59.3% worse

Nic is a better ball handler than Lillard, but both are way worse than Blake.

    Based on my 'eyeball test':

Nico throws way more 'great' and thread the needle passes.

Dame (IMO) throws more terrible passes.

Dame certainly 'handles' (i.e. 'dribbles') the ball more than Nico, but Nico is more often the 'setup' man. He passes a lot.

Yeah, stats......they're great if all the surrounding conditions are the same. Damian handles the ball more often, in most of the high pressure situations, and he is the focal point of the defense, other than LMA. What I SEE is Batum making more bad decisions with the ball, not necessarily caused by defensive pressure, and being hesitant a lot of the time. Can't seem to stat it.

Somehow, the Rolo thread turned into a Batum thread..I should have known it would!

Lillard does turn the ball over a little too much for my liking out of a PG. Hopefully he ratchets that up with a little more seasoning.

If we play the Clippers in the playoffs and they bring Paul and another up top to disrupt Lillard before we get in our offense and Stotts doesn't adjust by bringing up the bigs to set screens, I'm going to lose it. The Clippers employ that strategy against all young PG's.

Homer is right. The stats deceive.

Batum's turnovers are avoidable. They occur on long, floating passes, or on careless dribbling when he takes his eye off the ball, his mind on his next Hail Mary pass. The lucky forward who takes it from him isn't even looking for the steal.

Lillard's turnovers are unavoidable. They occur due to being closely guarded by a guard who's good at steals.
