Given all the old folks around here as well as the youngsters....curious if anyone has an active bucket list?

Going into space ( is still tops for me)
Travel through all 50 states (over half way)
    Visit 100 countries (13)
    Visit all 7 continents
Fly round the world (helps achieve 3 & 4)

    That's my travel bucket.....

Sadly everything on my bucket list is now unattainable. To travel to all major landmarks & historic places was one of them.

So true, the older we get, the more things drop off the bucket list, due to numerous reasons. Age can rob one of mobility, and lofty dreams, we've held all our lives, with hope to fulfill an entire bucket list.......

From what age, tho', bucket lists change considerably at different ages.....

As a kid, to play for the NY Yankees only....be an Astronaut, and or Pilot, (dove head first in the NASA Junior Fan Club, during Mercury, onward ho-

As an old man, hell just to live a day pain free would be nice......

1- Climb Anapurna, K2, Denali, Ski the Matterhorn....
Had to settle for Whitney a few times, and Ski Mammoth in lieu of Swiss Bliss. Out of the Q now.

2- Jump out of a plane into the Great Northwoods or Yukon, live on the land Wild for a few years, or more....

3- Always wanted to go into Space, until I was no longer a candidate to pass the physical...

4- Traveled enough to last a lifetime, been to all but 9 States....yet never left the North American Continent.....I've always been one, to want to finish seeing everything all states had to offer, before contemplating going abroad.....

5= Drive a Formula 4 on Willow Springs, Laguna Seca, Atlanta's GP track, the Brickyard too; settled for a couple of Super Bike Races at/on Willow Springs, and, Ontario Motor Speedway. Open Class my favorite, tho' deadly, with all classes of Bikes at once. Not the norm, and only done at Ontario. What a blowback, I felt from the Legend, Kenny Roberts, Yamahammer 1,200 cc Rice Rocket.....(named my son after KR).....

Hell, now I'd be happy, designing the necessary Fuel and Equipment pods, necessary for a return flight from Mars, as well as Escape Pods for the Mars adventure. We proposed Escape Pods, had all the Drawings complete, back in 87 at Rockwell. NASA wanted 4 EP's, and the Govt. wouldn't approve what could of perhaps saved the Columbia Crew.......

Now I'd settle for establishing the 1st ever drive thru or in, Space Restaurant. I bet McDonald's, (gut ache burgers), will be the 1st, yet vetoed due to the shit for food......

Other contenders/franchises: Burger King, Carls Jr./Hardees, Papa John's or Dominos (we deliver), KFC, tho' I'd much prefer a Cracker Barrel, Claim Jumpers, Sonny's BBQ, and others just fill in the blanks_________X__________X___________.....and no fkn Waffle Houses, (altho' those pee-can/Waffles are fkn tasty.......Waffle House the Original Greasy Spoon.....made damn good grits too....

No White Castles either, Home of the Drunken Stupor Customers, who wake up with Alcohol and Food Poisoning. White House, the Original pre-Hangover Burger. I puked up so many of those, I would not take a grand to eat one.....

I Also wanted to do Sophia Loren, Raquel Welch, Salma Hayek, Eva Mendez, Jane Russell, Jennifer Lopez, Claudia Cardinale, Virna Lisi, Carrol Baker, Halle Berry, Barbara McNair, Ann Margret & about 163 other women. Now I'd be lucky if I could do Betty White.

and I thought you were fixing to say, your game is Joan Rivers, tho' Betty White, said she was 'loose'; while one of the "Not ready for Primetime" cast members did say: "Betty White is here today, were all going to get laid", on the 40th re-union SNL.

Is there any such thing, as a bastard daughter? Cuz I saw you hanging onto Isabella Rosssellini, the notorious bastard chick, chix with dix, let me off this Bus....!

I never did really have a formal bucket list... I know from an earlier age I wanted to be a dad and I wanted to be a husband, so those are checked off... But aside from that..

So, off the top of my head... I give you Hammer's Bucket List:

-Travel to every state (only 23 so far)
-Go to Ireland (maybe even do a castle tour)
-Do an exhaustive search on ancestry.com or other genealogical website
-Visit Wrigley, Fenway, & the older Yankee Stadium (got 2 of 3, still need Wrigley which would also check off Illinois from above)
    -Fish for salmon
    -Learn to hunt
    -Sky dive
    -Ride a hot air balloon
-Check out the coasters at Cedar Point
-Swim with dolphins (I know you can swim with them at Discovery Cove, but it wasn't my money when I was there)
    -Swim with sharks
-More specifically, swim with Great Whites
-Ride an elephant (next time I'm in Arkansas I will, I didn't get to last time my family did that)
-Take an Alaskan Cruise (also would check of Alaska)
-Stand in the crown or torch of the Statue of Liberty (every time I've been, the stairs had been closed)
-Visit the great National landmarks/parks (Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone Park, Yosemite Park, the badlands, Glacier National Park, Denali National Park, Everglades, Glacier Bay, Grand Canyon (as an adult), Grand Tetons, Redwood, Sequoia, Niagara Falls, Golden Gate Bridge, Old Faithful, etc.)
-See a volcano erupt in person (from a safe distance of course)
-See a tornado in person (also from a safe distance)
-See the Northern Lights in person
-Stay in those igloo villages once
-Stay at Bora Bora or Fuji
-Eat something I've never had before and I've had a lot
    -Do the Polar Bear Plunge
    -Go to Australia
    -Visit Easter Island
-Go on an Amazon Rainforest excursion
-Visit all the historic/colonial cities (Been to NY, Philly, Boston, Salem, Williamsburg/Yorktown/Jamestown, Lexington, Concord, Mystic Seaport (I know, a misnomer), Providence, New Haven. Savanah, Charleston, Raleigh, Princeton, etc.) Been to all of these, but would like to again with the kids
-Bungee jump (I've done the kind where you are in a cage that is launched upward, but never one where I've jumped off a bridge or whatever)
-Cliff dive again (I jumped off a cliff in Algonquin Provincial Park that was a good 65' up (20 meters)) and had to jump out to clear the trees below me)

    um...

    What else...???

Visit 100 countries....? Visit all 7 continents?

So we can show people the pictures we've taken.

    Very nice, impressive.

Maybe we can wander around, spend some time in the more unglamorous, un-postcard like areas of those countries and live a while like THEY do......and return home being more enlightened.

Maybe we may personally question those Vietnamese and China/Chinese "merchants" who keep in unsanitary conditions, brutalize and slit the throats of puppies and dogs and cats for the ALMIGHTY buck ......aka "meat for sale".

Why Pakistanis wipe their asses with their bare hands after taking a dump, and Alchohol abuse in Russia is a more serious problem amoung the population as drugs are here.

Women being allowed to be stoned to death by their spouses and townfolk because
    THEY were raped.

Why the people of Castro's communist paradise were allowed only two-three years ago to "legally" have cell phones and why we see so many people driving around in new Mercedes....oops,never mind, lol......and God help you if you are gay.

    Yep, now you're talkin'.

    Jezz kiddin'.

That's one helluva good bucket list Hammer......

1- I've always wanted to see Ireland or Scotland....I hear the Castles there are magnificent, Germany also has some great Castles or Yore'

2- My Cousin did just that, and he has it all online, Ancestry goes back to Charlemagne, yet alot of French Canadiens do go back to Charly, we must all be inbred from his era....LOL..!

3- What I'd give to see Wrigley one more time, was there when I was 6 yrs old, yet can't recall much, or enough, So Wrigley is still on my dream list. (I do still got my Program tho').....

    Hammer-
did you read any articles on how the rats literally infested Northern Chicago, and all those nice Apts across each street. They came out of the ground in droves, when they tore the OF down, to remodel the place, from what I read, "its still an out of control prob".

4- Fishing for Salmon is a blast. In Alaska you can wind up with a 100 lbs in no time, they bite like nowhere else. Outside Seattle there's some good salmon fishing, as well as the Columbia River, now that is bitching, if you use a spear. Otherwise one has to wait years for the Indians to allot a permit....

5 & 6- Let's go........there's quit a few balloons up in the air, over this Mojave Desert on a Daily basis....with 4 Sky Diving Outfits right here as well, Let's do both, get in a Balloon, then jump out.....

7- Does swimming with Seals count? (Nothing like Dolphins I'm sure, ie to swim with)....

8- Ok, now I know your crazy....! LOL, Not.....yet, I don't do the Ocean thing like I did when I was a young bachelor. Annacapa Island out here, just 50 miles off the CA Coast is a breeding ground for Great Whites, and Geezus are they fkn narley big mother fkrs....I'll pass on that one, the only shark I would go swimming with is in a pool at Universal City Studios, His name: Jaws....

9- Only Rick, can oblige you with this one, his secret home away from home or His resort escape. (Beware of dueling banjos).....

9-A you can kill two birds with one stone in Arkansas, ie, Elephant Ride, and Hippo, Rhino, and Naga Hunting.....

10- Never did the Cruise of Alaska, but from the several sources/buddies, It is well worth every penny....the last bastion of Un-Tainted Wilderness.....

11- Yosemite is Incredible. It's so over polluted these days, Parking Garages, with bus tours, (not how i like to see Wilderness, I prefer being deep in the Forest/Mts. with rarely a fellow hiker to be seen. IN the 60s-70s, Yosemite was the place to go, never over populated then, Campgrounds did not require a Years notice for a Reservation, like now.....May I suggest, head to Yosemite, then go south to Shaver Lake, then to the top and 3rd lake near the High Sierra Peaks, GREAT Trout Fishing too.....

11A- My favorite all time Natl. Park with no contest is Joshua Tree National Monument Park, also the largest Natl Park in Caly. 4 Different deserts converge there, (Mojave/Colorado, Chihuaha, and Arizona).......(thus each area is a valley, with a totally different ecological type of cacti and other wildlife creatures)......with over 3 dozen earthquake faults, a great Geological/History of the Planet Park, Volcanic Activity, Massive Earthquake upheavals of Rock Formations, no other place on Earth comes close too, NTM, one can cleanly see how the entire South West was several times the Ocean Floor.....

12- I've seen my share of Tornado's in Kansas. When I was young, other than dreaming to play with the Yankees, I thought a 2nd job of chasing Tornado's would be worthy.....One also blew my Sisters House and Tract off the map in Wichita, KS......beware....!

13- I'd die of a Heart Attack now, yet did as much damn near in North Dakota when I was 21...! Even more refreshing was a Motorcycle ride, with only boots, shorts, and gloves on a Winter Night when the temp was 1 degree.....after a few minutes one gets so numb or hypothermic, they can't feel the cold.....

14- Took a vacation to Aussie in 98, Went directly to Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo, got to meet Steve'O and Teri, on the premises, got a shitload of memorabilia, and both's autographs on 2 items. Steve was/is a Saint......
Queensland Rain Forest is incredible, never got to see the Outback tho'......

15- Let's GO, tho' I'm not sure the dozen or 2 dozen shots would kill me or not, if the shots didn't the Amazon might, yet its a worthy venture.......

    16- I applaud you......!!!

17 & 18- I've already broke my back once........your on your own, LOL.....a noble venture as well.........

Kudo's Steve, Yours in one helluva "Bucket List"

    Thank you!

    I didn't number them, though, so I'm lost... ;)

Obviously I know the Ireland, ancestry, Wrigley ones (didn't know that about the rats)...

I've heard salmon fishing is a blast, but everyone I know has gone to NY or Canada on the east coast... going to Alaska would check off Alaska too...

"5 & 6..." Hot air balloon/sky dive? I wonder about jumping out of a hot air balloon... or does it not get high enough? Skipped hunting?

    I'd think seals would bite

I didn't say I wanted to free dive with sharks... cage dive is fine by me for the great whites...

#9??? Only Rick can help with??? Not sure which one that refers to... Is this the elephant? I know when we went to Fairfield Bay Arkansas for a family reunion in 1999, I was only able to come for a couple of days as I was in San Diego for the summer and didn't go to a wedding in the philly area as my ex-gf broke it off w/ me because we "were too physical" to only find out she was sleeping with a married man... anyway, I digress... What is Naga?

I'll keep that in mind regarding Yosemite... Never really heard of Joshua Tree Natl Park... seen it listed, but never heard anything about it.

No clue what you're referring to for #13...

If I go to Australia, I'll have to make sure I let my aunt know... she is from Australia and my uncle met there... he went there during our summers so he could ski their winters and then they came back in our winters to ski here... he now runs a mountain in Colorado and is an avalanche expert... so that worked out for him

16, 17, & 18 are the historic/colonial sites, bungee, and cliff jump respectively?

    Thanks though!

Your always more than Welcome Hammer/Steve.......

    #1-
    ON the Chicago Rats: http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/01/wrigley-field-renovation-rats-chicago-cubs-mlb

    and: http://wgntv.com/2015/01/29/wrigley-field-renovation-brings-rats-to-the-neighborhood/

2- One can use the same Parachuting Rig, Base Jumpers use, for short jumps, out of a ballon. Only prob is there is but 1 chute, with NO backups....a true blast of andrenaline.....Tho' I prefer higher jumps, and my back doesn't support jumping like it used, to, but even with a bad back, One needs to have fun, even if it hurts........

PS: don't do any base jumps until you've done a Tandem Jump or 3 or 4....or more. As well as perfecting your Normal High Jumps, where you have 1 or 2 backup chutes, other than your Primary Chute....

    2-
Continued: Yep, I skipped hunting cuz I am not much of a Hunter. If I had to survive on what I could kill, then I'd have a different mental approach. Reason being: I shot my 1st deer when I was 18, and maimed it. On the ground making strange verbal sounds, I had to administer the fatal shot to the head at point blank. I swear the looks the Deer gave me, looking into my eyes, spooked the piss out of me, as if it were saying WTF did you do to me.

    3-
Yes, they do bite, tho' I've never been bitten by one. Around Santa Barbara lives a shit load of seals, which are actually pretty tame. However I'd not swim with utterly wild seals, tho' even one in domestication, could bite at any time....

4- Ah, thanks for clarifying, I thought you meant without a cage, my bad, LMAO......I thought you were one helluva brave guy, wanting to swim with Great Whites, sorry...... ;)

    5-
A Naga is a fictional Texas animal. I had a buddy who was from TX, and said Bobby, I'll take you hunting for Naga's, when you go to TX next time. My reply: WTF is a Naga, answer: you know those hydes are worth a fortune, ie, Nagahyde, like vinyl......I was hoping you'd bite, as I did too.....(shit eating grin).....!

#5- Cont'd. Wait you mean you went to a family re-union in Arkansas? But are you an Arky native? LOL......;) Rick has a resort get away house in the woods of Arkansas, where they filmed the movie Deliverance......:biglaugh:

    6-
Best time to see Joshua Tree is in the Spring around this time, when the Wildflowers are mind blowing. In the summer, being over a mile high elevation, and in a desert at that, the temps exceed 130 degrees, easily in the Summer months...

    #7-
I was referring to the Polar Bear Plunge, which would give me a heart attack in my latter years.

    8- see #2
