It looks good, its a huge change and will take a little time to get used to. I like how the scores are setup, and how you can setup favorites. the old site used to piss me off because of the drop down menus.
I looked at the source code to the site and they have a/b testing logic in there. It's possible that some people will see the old design and other the new. a being the new, b being the old.
Not liking it. Feel free to post other sites you like better. Checked out si and fox and they blow equally as much.
I like the box scores and the NBA score page better on my desktop but do not like having to scroll for stories on the main page. On my phone, I absolutely hate everything.
I think they did a great job with the redesign. Instead of making it look and feel like a mobile site no matter what device you're on (like SI and many other sites are doing), they actually made a good functioning site that, while busy, isn't cluttered.
...don't get me wrong, I like the actual box scores and the layout -- but off the top bar when clicking a game there is no way to go instantly to the box score -- instead, if the game is in progress the Gamecast will open and if the game is over it will take you to the recap page first before you can click box score -- so annoying!
...yes, someone fixed my biggest complaint! Fix The New ESPN.com Annoyances With This Greasemonkey Script http://deadspin.com/fix-the-new-espn-com-annoyances-with-this-greasemonkey-1697067401
It won't let me click the menu options in my phone. I can't get to the standings without typing it out myself. I've actually gone back to NBA.com now.
