So far Mavs up 33-21. I like the Harris and Buckner switching off on Kobe. Both have the quickness to stay with Kobe.

This is the Lakers-Mavericks first game of this season.

That 24 point game Kobe shot a horrible percentage. I believe he was 5-22. Dallas has figured out how to contain Kobe just by being super focused to the point where other players on the lakers are wide open. Tonight would've been another struggling game if the refs didn't bail Kobe out continuously.
Griffin is a nice defender but he doesn't have the quickness to stay with Kobe. Harris does and Buckner is alright as well. I think Harris did the best job on Kobe but he (Harris) kept screwing up on offense tonight.

All of a sudden Dallas looks forward to the challenge of guarding Kobe. They got players that can do it despite what happened.
The only time the refs bailed out kobe was on that 3 pointer on where he was "fouled". Kobe bryant showed in the 2nd half that if he wanted to, he can score at will. 27 in one half. 5-6 in the 3rd. Simple fact is that phil probably didn't allow kobe to shoot more untill the 2nd half. Also, kobe would bust harris in the post but luke walton was playing selfishly and refused to give it to him.edit: Don't lie to yourself. They have no-one who can guard kobe 1 on 1. Kobe would bust harris in the post. Kobe was yelling at luke walton to give him the ball in the post but he refused to.

He may have some off-nights once in a while but no player can shut him down offensively.
Well the Lakers lost the division last night and will probably be behind 5 games before Odom comes back. Thank you Dallas. :happy0144:

Maybe San Antonio is better at it but that's about it. Also melo061 Harris was all over Kobe and I believe took a charge when Kobe did try to post him up.

Kobe is a great post player and can beat up raja bell down there. You think he can't beat a smaller devin harris in the post? You gave kobe more than his season average. That isn't containing. If kobe wanted to, he could've scored more but he went out and tried to get everyone involved.Containing is what kwame did to dirk. Dirk did sh*t when Kwame was on him.
It's pretty hard to stop a rich basketball player whose evil powers are fueled by white virgin girls.
^Wow...just wow.And yeah Melo...just about any bum can guard Dirk...that's why he's the toughest person to guard in the NBA right now based on his height and skill...Kobe is unguardable, but that's mostly because he's just nuts, and can go off at any time.`
