THATS THE PROBLEM!! It's not Hank in there it's his cousin Chuck Lundqvist. Someone get Hank back in there!
You are really over complicating this guys. Special teams and they wanted it more tonight...that is all. All the other stuff is fluff on the outside. Our PP is 1-7. They go 2-2 to start on their PP. We didn't play with nearly enough passion or fight tonight. What we do just about every time we have a chance for a 2 game lead in a series. Outside of the Montreal series we never take 2 game leads. Business as usual. We'll be much better in game 3 I'd expect.
Other then all the penalties the Pens played a strong game. Rangers passing this series has been bad and they have not played great the first 2 games. I expect the Rangers to play a great game in G3
Oh really? Sutter wide open in front of the net, and Step fails to put a body on him. Crosby skates right by McDonagh, to tap-in the easiest playoff goal he will ever score Kunitz all alone in front of the net to give the Pens another 2 goal lead
That simple Dis. Again this is the same thing we see series after series with this team. No surprise to me. Give the Pens credit. We need to want it MUCH more. And we need to do better on our PP. Game 3 will be tough in their building, but we are a great road team, so get a win. Hopefully we can win in 6, because we should not be going 7 against this team.
Agree to disagree jam. I don't think stupidity had anything to do with it quite honestly. When I think stupidity I think dumb penalties. I think many sloppy TO's. What I saw was them kill us on special teams and want it much more than us, leading to those things you mentioned. That is not stupidity my friend. That is one team playing for their lives and another not at that level tonight.
Sum it up like this. At least 6, and maybe 7, of the series are 1-1 after two games. Tells you all you need to know IMO. You cannot fall down 2-0 in the NHL and expect to win the series. Those trailing teams know that very well, hence we have all these 1-1 series.
We can agree to disagree, that's fine ... I'll leave it at that. On to game 3, where they should show us some playoff hockey on both sides of the ice.
Onto game 3. We need a much better effort, and I expect we'll get one. Two things we need to be aware of/ready for: 1. The refs have totally been on our side through two games. We need to be careful that doesn't flip in Pitt. 2. The start of the game I am sure the Pens will come out on fire. Get through the first 7 or so minutes and we'll be okay.
I'm still confident they win this series and I hope also it doesn't go 7. What concerns me is they have been outplayed in 4 of the 6 periods. But this team hasn't played its best hockey yet and is very resilient. I'm very confident they win Monday night.
Pretty simple. PP has been garbage most of the time. Rookies are playing like rookies. Boyle and St. Louis are playing like total relics and that might not change.
