Get back to .500 and hopefully get some of these old slugs doing something.

I'd like that also Tom but its lineups like the one today that has me wondering what Girardi is smoking,

McCann gets 3 hits yesterday & he's not in the lineup (I know day game after a night game but he's only 31)
Young has been hitting well & he's taken out for a 140 hitter (Jones)
Drew is hitting 180 & he's batting 6th.

Oh Well, lets hope for the best.

Just getting back from a week in Germany, has anyone discussed the looming controversy of HR #660? Fucktard has what...2 to tie?

All I hear is that its going to be tough for the Yankees not to pay him. but with that said, if the guy has any class at all he'd give it to charity.

Good start, single by Ellsbury & a balk to 2nd.

Gardner gets him over to 3rd & a sac fly by Teixeira.

Yanks up 1-zip.

OOOPS! 2 by the Rays in the bottom of the 1st.

Good news, Murphy throws out his 3rd runner already, very impressive.

Sorry Tom, we posted at the same time.

No problem....just chillin' and lounging off the jet lag.

DD, Drew and Tex are definitely boat anchors in this lineup.

Pineda looks so-so. Giving up hits; men on base every inning.

Couldn't agree more.....sure inning killers. Like your seaman analogy better.

Sorry Kenny(Singleton), disagree with your thinking about Mike Mussina.
I don't see him as a HOF.

Headley's back on track. 5th inn, up 5-2.

Does Drew think he's a power hitter?

5-2. Alex seems the most comfortable when he's the only offensive star to carry a team (think Rangers career minus the chemical enhancement).

Teixeira is down to 189

Drew is down to 176

Gregorius is UP to 171

I definitely think he belongs in the HOF.............

117 games over 500 (270-153) ERA = 3.68

16 of 18 winning seasons

9 top 10 CYA finishes
6 top 5 CYA finishes

7 gold gloves

Of all your modern day pitchers (1940-current) with at least 3,500 IP & 240 wins, Only Juan Marichal walked less batters (709 to 785)

All during the juiced era with never having been linked to the stuff (unlike all the batters he faced).

Rick, appreciate the stats on Mussina. It's plausible that I always thought
him to have great longevity and the stats prove that. Always saw him
as an 'Innings Machine'. Just did not see him as a Chamionship arm.
Throughout his career, he went through arm miseries at least 5 or 6 times;
and yes, he achieved much. But for me, he falls short. Who knows.
When it's his time, maybe he'll get the votes. He did have a great career.

Yankees reach 500 at a respectfull 6-6 with there sweep of the (Okay it was the Rays) but it gives them a little momentum as they head to Detroit to face Shane Greene's Tigers. Who btw: by pitching today probably won't face the Yankees in there series.

Yankees are 6-6 going into the Tigers Den. We miss S Greene with an .039 ERA.
Thank goodness for that. We don't want Cashman to suffer from brain freeze.
Four at Detroit and then they come home for Mets, the only 2 MLB teams
to have won 10 games this year.

Yes, it will be a happy plane trip to Tigerland. That's where 'happy' ends.
They'll be lucky to win 2 these. Then the hot Mets will be waiting for them
for a 3 game set. Good luck.

And his ERA balooned to 0.39

Looks like we got rid of that bum just in time.

What foresight had our brilliant GM whose mother refers to a Sun! When Cashman did not resign Deki I was really pissed more so when he traded Greene. Betcha that kid wins 15-17 games this year Detroit has a pretty good staff.

Living in the TB area and knowing the Yankees failures at the "Trop" ( 3-7) in first series since 2012 I was damn happy that they completed the first Tropicana sweep since 2005. If they can split with Detroit I'd be happy.
