14th December, 2006 - 11:13 pm TNT - TNT's David Aldridge mentioned during tonight's coverage of the Hornets-Spurs game that ex-Sixers head coach Larry Brown is advising the team as they try to move Allen Iverson. After talking about the previously reported potential three way trade between the Sixers, Nuggets and Blazers focusing on Nene and Iverson, Aldridge added that the Bulls are also trying to get into the mix. The Bulls are hoping to land Marcus Camby from Denver, Iverson goes to the Nuggets and the expiring contract of 37 year old P.J. Brown would go to the Sixers, offering cap relief at seasons end.if we dont give up no core players this is great for usDuhon/KirkKirk/Gordon/ThaboDeng/NocMarcus/TyrusWallace/Marcus
As much as Denver wants Allen Iverson, I really do not see them giving up Camby unless they receive a solid big man in return, and that isn't happening here. But it would be a huge addition for Chicago.
You say they wont give up camby but if they want iverson that bad IDK. they just might.. Camby is 32 years old and gets hurt.... Now im sure you guys are sayin why would I want him... Well even if he gets hurt its not like we are losing much. PJ doesn't play that much anyway.. But if camby cna not get hurt we have a good PF for wallace
Why should we consider Camby anything even close to untouchable? He is 33 years old and still has nagging injuries. We need to unload him now while his trade value is still high. I love Camby and I love what he brings to the table but he will be on the downside of his career very soon. I would like to trade him before his stock drops.
Well see, Denver I dont think really cares about what they get for Camby. The reason they would give him up for just PJ Brown is because of the cap they need in order to get AI. If they get rid of Camby's contract and get an expiring one in PJ that opens up space to get Iverson. Plus they have one of the best rebounding teams in the NBA. Iverson > Camby and the trade makes sense for both teams imo.
While this will be big for the Bulls if it happens I dont think the Nuggets should deal Camby unless they got a big man back. While the fans love flashy play and great scoring, without a big defender and rebounder inside a team has no shot at winning. While AI, JR, and Melo would be a hell of a backcourt I highly doubt they could win starting Najera and Nene I guess at the PF and C spots.Wallace/Camby would be impossible to score on though, that would be sick
